It is the only logical way to handle the abortion issue if one really believes it is murder. Let's see how many people actually do.
If we were to actually apply logic to the anti-abortion stance, there would be more consequences than the above.
The heart of the abortion issues is the State having the right to supercede and overrule your personal autonomy as relates to decisions you make regarding your own body. The State uses the moral justification that the life of your unborn fetus is worth more than your right to decide what you do with your own body.
This logic could easily be justified to allow the State to supercede and overrule your personal automony whenever it felt a moral justification for "the greater good".
FOr instance, a nobel laurette needs a liver transplant, your DNA is on file and you are a match. The State can mandate that you must donate a portion of your liver.
A child loses both kidneys in a horrific car accident and has no family members. Your DNA is on file and you are a match. The State mandates that you donate one of your kidneys to save this kid's life.
but but but.... that's different!!!!
No, no it is not. From a pure logic perspective, there is very little difference. Ultimately, it is the State using a moral justification to overrule and supercede your automony as relates to your own body for "the greater good", to save an innocent life right? Well, what is the difference between an innocent fetus and an innocent 5 year old, or an innocent 50 year old?
Just sayin, if you use logic to extend the anti-abortion argument to other realms, you quickly find yourself in a place that would make George Orwell's 1984 seem like a luxury
