But doesn't every generation lose something?

Isn't that why my Roundup has to be stronger each year?

That's because the weeds become resistant to the previous form of Roundup. They BECOME more resistant.
Certain populations do loose certain traits depending on their environment (like fish living in caves loose their eye-sight because it's not needed), but this whole idea that creatures are degenerating can take a hike off a tall cliff.

Not 100% sure, but that seems right since humans, and by extension all animals, are open-systems, so that sounds about right.
Might have to ask someone more knowledgeable.

Actually things are what they are . They are not so because I believe it . There are not because I do not believe them . I can deny something I do not see but it does not keep it from being so . To say we have not been influenced by the thinking of others is a form of delusion . Not only is it unrealistic but just dishonest . Because of mass communication ( TV , Movies , Novels and Fiction ..and now the internet and smart phones ) people have been desensitized to sexual immorality and overt selfishness . In one generation alone ( when I was a child ) , I remember the song Louie-Louie being banned from the radio because it had some risque lyrics . Now , being a sexual predator or a willing victim ) ( called desire ) is featured in most "love songs " . Parents of faith used to have a concern for the eternal well being of their children . This has disappeared . This was predicted in 2nd Timothy Chapter 3 which by the way , describes believers . It is also called the great falling away or apostasy . It was written so that people could not go before God and claim that they did not or could not know. So we can deny the degeneration but it was predicted and fulfilled . The scriptures also say that people will be unreasonable ..implacable ..without understanding . Not that they do not understand but unable and no desire to understand .

Ancient people of God over the centuries have given up ancient customs and practices and superstitions in favor of revelation of the Christ and the leading of the Holy Spirit. Evenso, Christianity has had to cast off its more cruel, unethical, militant trappings and superstitions in favor of a Christianity based on loving God and our fellow man.

So even as the flora and fauna of our planet evolves, declines, goes extinct while new and better and stronger and more beneficial emerges, it all is in a state of flux. But I like to think God intends for us to become better improved versions of ourselves and not degenerate.

And yet still true ...every word is true . I do not know how old you are or how much experience or to whom have you given your mind to in order to learn . You may be very old and maybe wise beyond your years . You may have studied things and been given to understand things , to understand some Hebrew writings , to apply them . You may be a very humble and meek person . I do not know these things . I am only sharing things with you as it regards the degeneration of society . If you would like a substantial conversation . Do you understand the reason that God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble? It is because only the humble are able to learn . How many children there are who have more knowledge than wisdom? So much so that they are not able to even comprehend that they may not posses any wisdom nor understanding . Have you read the first three chapters of Isaiah ?
