A junior, Selena missed qualifying for the 55 meter in the New England regionals by two spots. Two spots, she said, that were taken by biological boys.

She better get used to it. Because complaining about it could well get her banned from sport and may ruin her college and career choices.

Title 9, a good thing overall, is dead. There will be boy's sports and girl's sports for former boys.

This is definitely an issue that needs to be addressed, but I haven’t heard any good solutions, other than not allowing students to transition their gender at all.
Which would be good for them, rather than mutilating them for something that would most likely pass in a year or two anyhow. Such kids need care and help and time more than they need mutilation.

Maybe we should start a third area of competitive sport for transgender athletes only. They would win a lot of ribbons and receive the self-esteem they are probably needing.

Who is being multilayered?! You are incredibly misinformed. And gender dysphoria doesn’t “pass” in a year or two.

So you don’t have a serious solution?

Nobody is being multilayered. But some are having surgeries to remove parts that they may later find they regret having had removed. And gender disphoria, like many sorts of disphoria, are not always permanent. Some pass with competent therapy and some just pass with time.

I assure you, I was being totally serious. Can you offer a more equitable solution? I competed in track and field throughout junior and senior high. It is, like a lot of sports, a combination of natural talent and hard work. You cannot ignore the natural talent part of this and that is biological. When I was in junior high they classified the boys into two categories, under 100 pounds and over. All those who competed in the less than 100 pound category (at the time I probably weighed 80 pounds) had to go through a weigh in. I saw quite a few guys stripped down to their jock straps trying to make the 100 pound limit. Was this being unfair to them? No, it was an acknowledgement of the differences in boys of that age to make a more equitable sport. The competitors did not have a problem with this system. We accepted it for what it was.
Now young women are being asked to compete against transgender boys and I call them boys because they in effect have been on testosterone injections since puberty. That has allowed them to grow musculature that is chemically enhanced. Competitors who inject themselves with steroids are disqualified in track and field. To allow transgender boys to compete, should we allow the girls to inject themselves with testosterone to make it more equitable? You see how slippery this slope is.

Can I suggest that be put in bold and all caps at the beginning of the SOP? It’s buried in there and people can’t be expected to follow rules they don’t know about.

It's common sense anyway. I get it that someone might not know which forum they are in from time to time, and post inappropriately.

Seriously? The op starts out- *You are in the Catholic forum*

Sheesh.
Hey, this is really unfair. “You are in the catholic forum” does not mean “you can’t post unless you are catholic.” Please make the rules clear if you want people to respect them. Is this how people who wander into a Catholic Church are treated as well?

The rules of the forum are clear. It's not unfair to warn people which forum they are in before they start acting like they are in one of the debate forums. No it does not mean Catholics only. But it does mean act accordingly. But you'd only see it if you bothered to actually pay attention to the op. It's not unfair. It's charitable to all concerned. You have any other complaints, you should contact staff. Asking how people are treated within the Church just shows your colors.

Sheesh.
Maybe you should change it to “You are in the Catholic Forum. Don’t post until you read the rules.”
Cuz let’s face it, common sense is dying.
