Need lots of rest after the very intense experience of becoming catholic and received into the church this past Easter vigil. Its such a huge, significant change.

Becoming Catholic is a really big deal!

I just love the church so much!!

There is so very much love and compassion and did I mention love?!

I hear you. A theological and practical emphasis on love has drawn me in, too.

God bless you! Congratulations, friend!

This may help someone on here; have been struggling with depression for a few weeks, and on a whim asked Saint Damian of the San Damiano church of Saint Francis to help me against the depression. Have been feeling better, less horrible this week. More hopeful. Maybe this can help someone.

Hello Gracia, do you have any idea what caused the depression?

Everything? Lol.

Having this weird feeling of floating, of not being capable of having a home. Wondering where, if anywhere, my home in Christ is, and just sort of puttering around, trying to live out whatever I've figured out so far. Sorry to whine. Married life is complicated.

if it would help to anyone, I keep trying to make it to services for anointing with oil for healing of any kind, according to the priest.

he says its for anyone, and for not just a physical illness, but also for spiritual and emotional healing

there is really something going on with this and I get healing from it!!!

plus saying the litany of the saints....i really hope its ok to pray this-is it??

i think sometimes that it takes doing BIG things like asking ALL the saints to pray for you!!

I wish everyone could get blessed and prayed for with oil; I also got some blessed here at home that I bless myself with!!

Thank you for this, Joy, that's a big help! I'll try the Litany of the Saints. Haven't prayed a litany in a while. Bless you.

seriously, there is something going on with the litany....

gracia, i couldn't stop praying it all night long for 2 nights....

I'm new to the faith, but I'm starting to see that there are miracles from praying all night long and all kinds of blessing all over the place for anointing and going to mass more often

are you able to go by yourself?

do you watch it on tv or on the internet at least?

Hey, Joy. I just got done praying this;

EWTN - Litany of the Saints

I do have access to the internet. So that's my go-to for homilies, prayers, the Mass, devotions, and the Eucharist via YouTube. I know God knows what He's doing. It just takes a while. If I can't love Him in dryness, how will I love Him when things get better?

Please keep my husband in your prayers. He's a good man, just deeply confused, and ignorant. He does not hate the Church; he hates what he thinks the Church is, as Ven. Fulton Sheen has said.

Bless you, Joy. You certainly live up to your name. Your joy and sweetness is beautiful.

Our Lady bless you, and bring you closer and closer to her heart.

I love her. she is very special to me. she really does listen to us and intercedes for us!

I will indeed pray for your husband, most likely with the litany, as it seems really powerful

I love her, too. The more I trust her, the more she shows herself a mother, and loving. She's amazing.

Two miracles have been attributed to Father Damien's posthumous intercession. On 13 June 1992, Pope John Paul II approved the cure of a nun in France in 1895 as a miracle attributed to Venerable Damien's intercession. In that case, Sister Simplicia Hue began a novena to Father Damien as she lay dying of a lingering intestinal illness. It is stated that pain and symptoms of the illness disappeared overnight.[39]

the illness or pain of whatever kind of suffering, just disappeared from me after praying all night...

i found this on Saint Damien (see above)...

a friend of mind got really upset with me over this stuff, and others seem really annoyed too.

maybe they are mad at me for getting healed or they do not believe, but that unbelief is on them!

my friend cant bring herself to even speak to me, but blaming me for being healed is very strange.

its not my fault if they cannot get healing themselves, right?

maybe they get mad that all their prayers are not answered? idk

maybe my joy is annoying and a turn off and they get mad at me

Father Damien is one of those quintessential Catholic Saints in the sense of giving all for those who are unloved. So beautiful. This is something that I find very dear and challenging about the Catholic Saints; their love, and their willingness to touch, serve, hug, and love.

My own nature is untrusting, reclusive, isolated. To touch and help and love people, and see Christ in them, this challenges me very much. It goes against my nature, and that is good.
