Not pregnant, but after almost 8 years of marriage, I think we are (finally) ready to really start trying. I've been praying a lot about this but to be honest... I'm terrified out of my mind. Husband says we are ready (and we probably are) but I'm having a hard time getting over this fear.

I already found some books about being pregnant, but I'm wondering if anybody has a book they can recommend about being a faithful Christian/Catholic and trying to conceive. I know *how* it happens and how to track... I think something to help me get past the fear and trust that He will see us through the process and better prepare me for being a mom carrying a child.

I don't know about any faith based books on conceiving. I did read What to expect before you are expecting and Taking Charge of your fertility. Both talked about how to take care of your body BEFORE and WHILE you are trying to conceive and taking steps to prepare your mind and life for children. There might be devotionals out there for TTC women or pregnant moms; search on Amazon.

There's always going to be a little bit of fear before big life steps and once you are a parent there's a lot of fear in everything! YOu just pray and take it one day and thing at a time. YOu do your best and trust God to help, sometimes that's all you can do.

I should know more in about a week :) I'm now finding it very hard to stay patient, especially around Mother's Day. God's will of course...

I've picked up some books to keep me busy:
- 50 Things to Do before you Deliver (Jill Krause)
- Mayo Clinic Guide to Fertility and Conception (still waiting on getting this one)
- Mayo Clinic Guide to a Healthy Pregnancy (Myra J. Wick)
- A Catholic Mother's Companion to Pregnancy: Walking with Mary from Conception to Baptism (Sarah A. Reinhard)

My MIL bought me the "What do Expect before you're Expecting" book a few years ago... she meant it as a kind gift and I got that, but I donated it during one of our moves since I wasn't ready to start thinking about that and didn't want it around (yet).
