I try to live like I believe we are in the end times and that the rapture could happen at any moment. I fail often at this and just live life without "Being alert".

To answer your question in a round about way, OP, I would say I wouldn't be surprised if we were.

Although, for me to assume that it's going to happen anytime soon as if I were 100% convinced would be based off of ignorance as I honestly don't know.

I apologize if this question has already been asked.

I am wondering if anyone believes that we are in last days based on prophecies and why. If you do not think so, I would also like to know why you think this.

Thanks in advance!

Yes, because it is prophesied that...well, I'll quote:

"THE RESTORATION OF THE OLIVE TREE

Paul uses the typology of Israel as the Olive tree it in the new covenant scriptures when speaking to the Romans to bring out‭ ‬what Yahweh has purposed in opening the door to the‭ “‬Gentiles‭”‬.

When the House of Israel went into complete harlotry from Yahweh,‭ ‬He divorced them and they became‭ “‬not My people‭”‬.‭ ‬They no longer carried the name of‭ “‬Israel‭” ‬and therefore were regarded as part of the nations of the world into which they were assimilated.‭ ‬Even those who retained a knowledge of their identity could not bear that name outside of covenant relationship with Him.‭ ‬Therefore for them to be restored to Him,‭ ‬a new covenant had to be made with them and they had to be grafted back into the Olive tree.‭

In the letter to the Romans,‭ ‬Paul addressed the issue of those that are being grafted back into Israel,‭ ‬the Olive Tree.‭ ‬He is saying to them not to be arrogant against those that were at that time broken off and discarded, ‎“‏do not boast against the branches‭ ‬....‭ ‬remember that you do not support the root,‭ ‬but the root supports you‭” (‬11:18‭); ‬and that,‭ “‬God has not cast away His people which He foreknew‭”‬ (11:2‭)‬,‭ ‬but that He is able to graft them back in again.‭ ‬Paul’s discourse in Ch’s‭ ‬9-11‭ ‬is speaking to both Jews and Grafted-in Israelites from the nations‭ (‬9:9:24,‭ ‬30-31‭; ‬10:12‭; ‬11:11-15,‭ ‬25‭) ‬as either could be broken off and severed from the tree again.

The Olive Tree typology which Paul is using,‭ ‬is from Jeremiah’s prophecy of judgement which would come upon both Houses because of their sins against Him if they did not repent.‭ ‬He says,‭ ‬“Green Olive tree covered in fine fruit,‭ ‬was Yahweh’s name for you.‭ ‬With a shattering noise,‭ ‬He has set fire to it,‭ ‬its branches are broken.‭ ‬And Yahweh Saboath,‭ ‬who planted you has decreed disaster for you because of the evil the House of Israel and the House of Yehudah have done,‭ ‬provoking Me by burning incense to Baal‭” (‬Jeremiah‭ ‬11:16-17‭)

He is prophesying that the branches that have been broken off are going to be burned i.e.‭ ‬judgement is going to come upon them.‭ ‬It came upon both Houses but Yehudah’s was a‭ ‬temporary judgement.‭

Yeshua said,‭ “‬Any branch which does not bring forth fruit,‭ ‬He takes away‭”‬ (John‭ ‬15:1‭ ‬NJB‭)

and,‭ ‬...‭ ‬“Unless a man abide in Me,‭ ‬he is cast forth like a branch that is withered and they pluck it and place it in the fire that it may burn‭”‬ (John‭ ‬15:6‭ ‬NJB‭)"
Hebrew Roots/The restoration process/Gentiles - Wikibooks, open books for an open world

There's more, I encourage you to read the article, but basically, the tree is being united in these last days and ready to bear fruit...this is a really BIG sign!

Now, the above article uses the olive tree illustration, but Israel is also likened to a fig tree:

"31 And He will send out His angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather His elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other. 32 Now learn this lesson from the fig tree: As soon as its branches become tender and sprout leaves, you know that summer is near. 33 So also, when you see all these things, you will know that He is near, right at the door."

Do you think that Christians live in a different world than everybody else?
As written in God's Word, Ekklesia live in the world, but not of the world - a life and death difference, and observable by others when it is true living in Christ as written.
Do you think, that as the Body of Christ, we are His hands and feet -- and that through us, His Body, he accomplishes His plan for this world?
Hardly so. It is not and never had been seen as far as I know.

Or is this written somewhere in Scripture ?

I think we are in the last days but I am reminded that the Bible teaches us that to the Lord, a day is as a thousand years which, to the people of Biblical times, is longer than anyone can imagine.

And Jesus himself said that no one knows the hour it will happen but the Father. But he also said we would know when the time comes.

For generations, people have been trying to fit the current times into the prophecies, sometimes concluding that the time is upon us. And I have sympathy for those who bought into that, gave away everything they owned, and went to a mountain top or someplace to wait for the Rapture. And of course every one of those dates came and went.

I think we can't go wrong if we live our lives so that we are ready each day we wake up, and also live our lives as if it could be thousands of years.

Hardly so. It is not and never had been seen as far as I know.

Or is this written somewhere in Scripture ?
For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—Jews or Greeks, slaves or free—and all were made to drink of one Spirit. For the body does not consist of one member but of many. ...
God arranged the members in the body, each one of them, as he chose. If all were a single member, where would the body be? As it is, there are many parts, yet one body. The eye cannot say to the hand, “I have no need of you,” nor again the head to the feet, “I have no need of you.” ...
Now you are the body of Christ and individually members of it. And God has appointed in the church first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracles, then gifts of healing, helping, administrating, and various kinds of tongues.
(1 Corinthians 12:13-14, 18-21, 27-28)

It does say that we are the hands and feet (and eyes, and nose) of the Body. It does say that each part has a purpose and a calling of service. What is that, except a call to do the Lord's work in this world?

The Rapture, many believe, is a 19th century British evangelical heresy that has fallen steadily out of favor over the last thirty years. Others believe in the Rapture with all their hearts and souls.

It is true that each generation of Christians, including the first generation of Jewish converts, thought their generation was the final and last one before the immediate coming of the Lord.

I do believe that when the Lord comes the elect will be lifted unto the Heavens.

Foxfyre's advice above is very good: live like today or tomorrow is the final day before the Coming of the Lord.

All of Ekklesia(everyone who is born again by the will of the Father from heaven)
are to HEAR and to DO the FATHER'S WORD, and to speak His Word. Yes, Scripture says this. We (Ekklesia) are to do the works that the Father prepared for us to do, daily.

What does this have to do with previous posts or points though ?

I believe we're in the latter days, but do not believe in the rapture as a separate event to the resurrection.

I believe this based on what the bible says, and also surrounding the fruit of the different rapture eschatology views and what this does to the church.

This idea is stated nowhere in the Bible. Jesus refutes it; John 3:13
Even Pauls prophecy in 1 Thess 4:17, never says that heaven is the destination, people just add that to suit the 'rapture to heaven' belief. It is just a gathering to where Jesus is, initially in the clouds, then in Jerusalem for the Millennium. Proved by Matthew 24:30-31

We are at the very edge of the end times events commencing. First to happen will be the Sixth Seal worldwide disaster by fire from the sun. Isaiah 30:26 & 66:15-17, Malachi 4:1, 2 Peter 4:7, +. This sudden and shocking strike, will devastate and virtually depopulate the entire Middle East region. Ezekiel 30:1-5, Zephaniah 1:14-18, Jeremiah 10:18, +
Then the rest of the prophesies will occur, as described in Revelation, leading up to the glorious Return of Jesus for His Millennium reign.

I can't say I believe or I disbelieve. I tend to just not think about this stuff, because not only don't I know but i think it's one of the beliefs that reveals fanaticism than being an actual christian. I normally cringe when I read/hear some christian go off about signs from red cows, a bunch old jewish people gathering, etc etc.. these are one of the most looney and unintelligent forms of christian thinking out there.

This isn;t about the Bible being true or not, but understanding the complexity of interpretations in consideration that the writers, while divinely inspired, were still in a time prior to science.

To me, just worry about your life right now.

No where in Scripture does Yahuweh(God) ever say that His people , Ekklesia,
CAN
make the world a better place,
NOR
that that is Yahuweh's Purpose or Plan !

Hebrews 11:32-33
32 And what more shall I say? For the time would fail me to tell of Gideon and Barak and Samson and Jephthah, also of David and Samuel and the prophets: 33 who through faith subdued kingdoms, established righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions,

The Chuch walks in the heritage of our Hebrews 11 Brothers and sisters who turned the world upside down. we are to, and we do, emulate their example, and NOTHING can stop us! (Matthew 16:18)

Acts 17:6
6 But when they did not find them, they dragged Jason and some brethren to the rulers of the city, crying out, “These who have turned the world upside down have come here too.

keras, it does not need to be stated in the Bible to be true.

Do you believe in The Rapture?
No, I do not. But, please clarify what you mean. To heaven or to where Jesus is?
What I believe is how we Christians must stand firm in our faith during all that must happen before Jesus Returns. Revelation 14:12, +
Many prophesies tell us how God will mightily bless His faithful Christian people, by living in all of the holy Land in peace and prosperity. He will destroy the attackers, Joel 2:18-29 Note that Joel 2:30-32, refers to the forthcoming fiery test of our faith; the Lord's terrible Day of wrath against the nations. 1 Peter 4:12

Yes ... we are in the last days, as this is the last of the dispensations before Jesus returns.

Time is broken up into seven dispensations: Innocence, Conscience, Human Government, Promise, Law, Grace, and Kingdom.

The dispensation of Grace ... the one we're in now ... was not revealed to anyone prior to Jesus' first advent.

In fact, it was so secret that even the angels didn't know about it:

1 Peter 1:12 Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven; which things the angels desire to look into.

So, yes.

We are in the Last Days / Dispensation of Grace / Church Age.

It began at the renting of the veil of the Temple, and will end at Armageddon, when Jesus returns.

Been so called 'Last Days' since Christianity began.

Revelation is grossly misinterpreted. As is a lot of scripture.
Last Days plural, a thousand years is like a day, boom.

Perhaps nothing will stop "them", who are opposed to God, until Jesus returns, yes.

Ekklesia in the Old Testament did as written, but did not change the world - the world fought against them, and when Yahuweh gave the victory to His people , His people won. When His people sinned, they lost.

Today, all the nations are opposed to Yahuweh, oppressing the poor and weak, and
have joined the beast system in serving the beast daily.

Yes, Ekklesia today turn the world upside down, in small areas, for a little while.

Then "when they persecute you (Ekklesia ) in one town, FLEE TO THE NEXT" is commanded by Yahuweh and required to live and to obey.

I do not follow news paper eschatology. Jesus second coming has been preached in each and every generation since the day He ascended. He told us to be ready at anytime. There are no signs that have not already been fulfilled to point to our, or anyone's generation. I just make sure I am prepared when that thief in the night comes.
Blessings

TheSinningServant, I not only believe it, I know it within the depths of my soul. So much of the Church does not believe that we are "in the last days," but strictly speaking, we have been in the last days since the Ascension of Jesus to heaven and the commission of the Church to spread the Gospel to every living creature.

Specifically, though, regarding this time that we are in within both human and biblical history, yes, we are in the very last days of this age.

If you read the book, A Prosperity Phenomenon, by Dr. Don G. Pickney, and even more so as a preparation and analog to it his other books regarding The God of This World, Mental Assent, Qualifying for Riches, The Trial of Job, What You Need to Know About Seed Faith, The Anchor Holds, The Tithe, Vengeance to Comfort, and The China Factor, to name more than a few, you will come to see that God our Father has been waiting for specifically this time to usher in the Great Harvest of souls to his family, just before and in anticipation for the temporary carrying away of the Church in the rapture as the remaining part of humanity that had not accepted Jesus during the period of grace (the past 2000 plus years) must endure the remaining seven years without the presence and influence of the Holy Spirit and without accepting the mark of the beast which will be the mark of participation in that socio-economic system.

During those brief seven years which may seem like an eternity to those who only too late recognize Jesus as the Savior during the the previous time of grace, their salvation will only come in one of two ways: martyrdom for the sake of belief in Christ Jesus or to survive the seven years without taking the mark of the beast.

Although relatively new, Jehovah Tsaba University has been founded to teach, educate, inform, and propagate the good news of the Gospel, especially in regards to the message and mission of The Day of Jehovah Tsaba (the Lord of Hosts). Look it up at JehovahTsaba.org and TheDayofJehovahTsaba.org, as well as JehovahTsabaUniversity.org.

The Day of Jehovah Tsaba is predicated on several scriptures, but most especially, James 1:1-5; Haggai 2:4-9; Deuteronomy 4:32-34; Isaiah 60:5; and Zachariah 1:8-9.

Again, why this time? Because God our Father has been patiently waiting for the end-time harvest. A time where the wicked had consolidated the real wealth of the world for what they believe to be their purpose, but for which God has used them to consolidate it for his purpose of a vengeance to comfort and to facilitate the ability of the Body of Christ to fulfill the great desire of the Father to increase his family.

Keep in mind, everything that is, EVERYTHING, is already God's and he can do with it and give it to whomever he wills. It may have seemed that for centuries past that God may have seemed weak, sometimes appearing non-present, non-active, and that evil was and is the prevailing power and authority. Be fooled not! God our Father, the true and only creator of the world and all of creation, all that exists, is alive and well and is fulfilling all that his Word has proclaimed within scripture.

We are seeing and living in the most exciting time and period within human history! Take heart and firm confidence that great things are happening to those who trust and believe in the Lord. You will not be disappointed.

Continue to grow in love and fear of the Lord and remember that we already know the end of the story. We know and have read the last chapter. We are victorious!!!

Blessings and love in Jesus!
