Mark of the Beast

Okay so I don’t know much about the Mark of the Beast or whatever, basically if you take it your going to Hell or something. So how can I know if I haven’t done something to somehow take it, without knowing or remembering? I don’t know if I have, I don’t think I have, but honestly I’m not sure if I haven’t done it maybe on accident, or through ignorance, or something like that. Back in like 7/8 grade me and a friend used to joke about the Illuminati and 666 and stuff and draw it. I can’t remember, but I may or may not have drawn or written either on myself (although I highly doubt it). Anyway, we did it as a joke, i obviously had no idea what I was doing. Anyone have anything to say on this?

Revelations is pretty clear about what the mark of the beast is. It's a sign on your hand or forehead that you need to take to be able to do any work or trade in the entire world. There is, at the moment, no such thing, and something scribbled on a notebook certainly doesn't qualify.

Alright, thank you guys for putting my mind at ease, least for now. Guess I better start reading Revelation so I can recognize when stuff like this starts to happen. And what do you mean about the different viewpoints? @Rene Loup

It's also tied in with worship, not just a mark...

To be guilty of something you must knowingly and willingly commit the act. Accepting the "mark of the beast" is not something a person can do as a joke, and it is not something a person can do in ignorance.

Personally I believe the mark of the beast to be what was called a libellus, which was a document attesting that a person had offered incense to the gods of Rome or worshiped an image of the emperor to demonstrate their loyalty to him. Those are two things Christians of the time were expressly forbidden to do, but some fell away under threat of death and did it anyway.

You'll know if you take it, because you will understand that people are being killed for not taking it...so, if your conscience isn't seared you will feel guilty for being a part of a system that is doing this...their blood will also be on your hands and so those who take it are knowingly committing murder for financial security...and,of course, to keep from being executed themselves.

Boy, now y’all have gone and confused me. Anyway, my main question has been answered, and I can now rest easy (I think) knowing that I have not done this. I’m currently working on reading the entire Bible from cover to cover, and am currently at Leviticus.

I’ll be sure to carefully read Revelation when I get there so that I can at least somewhat grasp what it’s trying to say. Again, thanks for the help guys.

While people will debate what the mark is, most realize a mark means that it's not literal. For example when a "hit" (assassination) is put out on someone, they became "a mark, a target". So if you have the mark of the beast it simply means you are marked figuratively.

Now as for you, joking about Illuminati or on paper I doubt God is worried about. You are all good. After all you are on here asking, which means you truly care about what God may think.

Mid Trib and Pre Wrath are not the same. You got Mid Trib correct, but Pre Wrath happens in the second half if the Tribulation just before God's wrath is poured out. It could be 2/3 or 3/4 into the Tribulation before that happens. Pre Wrath is like a Post Trib Light. lol

And don't forget to recognize when you're being obsessive about something, and try not to compulsively analyze or research it. Just saying that because there's OCD written all over this question..."I may or may not have accidentally done X, but will I be forever condemned?" I'm glad you got answers that put your mind at rest though.
