How many people will be saved?

David
2 Samuel 8:2
"David defeated Moab, and measured them with the line, making them lie down on the ground; and he measured two lines to put to death and one full line to keep alive. And the Moabites became servants to David, bringing tribute."

Zechariah 13:7-9
“Awake, O sword, against My Shepherd,
And against the man, My Associate,”
Declares the LORD of hosts.
“Strike the Shepherd that the sheep may be scattered;
And I will turn My hand against the little ones.
“It will come about in all the land,”
Declares the LORD,
“That two parts in it will be cut off and perish;
But the third will be left in it.
“And I will bring the third part through the fire,
Refine them as silver is refined,
And test them as gold is tested.
They will call on My name,
And I will answer them;
I will say, ‘They are My people,’
And they will say, ‘The LORD is my God.’”

In this prophecy from Zechariah, who is the Shepherd that gets struck, who are the sheep that got scattered and when did that occur?

So you know the Shepherd who was struck is Jesus Christ, and the sheep who were scattered were His disciples who fled when He was arrested. That's what I was asking.

So the 2/3rds that perish by the sword and the 1/3rd that are saved.... that comes AFTER all that. So when will/have 2/3rds of the "whole land" been killed and 1/3rd saved who God calls His people?

When it says 2/3rds of the "whole land" it makes me think the whole earth, all people. And when you read the plagues of Revelation, you see how the deaths could add up to 2/3rds of the entire global population very quickly.
