He will either lose his re-election bid in 2020 and leave office when the new president is sworn in, or he will be re-elected in 2020 and serve a second term.
I'm not ready to count out the 25th Amendment, but if I had to bet I'd say whenever this ends, it will be at noon on the 20th of January.

Can someone analyse my #4 please? Is that action possible....ie, having lost the election, the president immediately steps down, allowing the Vice President to take his place until the new president is sworn in?

It's possible Constitutionally, but I'm not sure why Trump, in this particular case, would do so and shorten his occupation of the office by a few months.

It’s there in my scenario. His best chance of staying out of jail is to have Pence occupy the office, if only for a short while...

Ideally, January 20, 2021 following a peaceful transition of power to someone who doesn't act like a three year old.

However, it's looking increasingly like there's going to be some sort of Constitutional showdown between Barr, Donny, and the House. I kinda feel like we're not going to get out of this mess so easily. It's clear that he (and his sycophants) don't care what they damage as long as they maintain their power.

I see several scenarios. Perhaps others can correct any misunderstandings I might have, or can suggest other alternatives...?

1. He will be defeated in 2020 and, because there will be a President elected who will not be sympathetic to his plight, Trump will be indicted for, amongst others, his obstruction of justice.

2. Fearing the likelihood of #1, he will step down before the 2020 election, in the understanding that President Pence would do a Gerald Ford and pardon him of all crimes, past and future.

3. He will be impeached, with the same outcome as #2.

4. He will lose the 2020 election and will then step down before Jan 2021, to allow Pence to briefly take the presidency in order to pardon him (not sure of this one...is that how it would work?)

5. He will be re-elected in 2020, allowing him to escape prosecution, as the Statute of Limitations will expire before his second term concludes.

It will end with an election.

In the midst of the zombie apocalypse, he will be bit by an infected Kellyanne Conway. His policy from that point on will simply be "brains", which his supporters will applaud enthusiastically before the population is converted.

I don't think Donald can count on any loyalty from Pence and much of his corruption took place in New York State which Pence has no authority over anyway.

I think a stroke is likely or a series of them. Or maybe his senility will continue to progress and he will be judged incompetent to stand trial. His two eldest children won't be so lucky.

Just as possible as the others:

His Presidency will end at the end of his second term with one of the lowest unemployment rates in history, more Americans working and off public assistance, the economy moving forward, a incredible GDP sustained growth rate of >4.0%. The border wall will be finished and illegal immigration, violent crimes against those traveling to the US, child trafficking and sex trafficking will be reduced. Drug interdiction will be more effective because man power is shifted.

The Democratic leadership will still hate him, the media will still be the mouth piece of the Democratic leadership. A number of Current and former Democrat leaders and politicians are in investigation as at least two are facing sentencing.

And mama and youngest after auditing and lawyer fees will be left with $8.37 and a secret service guard for life?

In early 2025 when he is succeeded by president Mike Pence with Ivanka Trump as VP.

My wish is for Don JR with Ivanka Trump as VP. Let’s make it a dynasty. Greatest one ever!

You of course mean the last one ever.

Yes, I think that you are right. There are enough Trumps’ to have a 1000 year Dynasty, and they have good genes too, the best. A 1000 year Trump Empire of Greatness the likes of which the world has never seen!
