who are the Matthew 7:21.

I’m so confused on this. There are those who you can say are clearly walking in God but there are those who are workers of inquiry.

But who are the false?

That is an interesting question. And the answer is invariably "somebody else".

Interesting is true. We know them by their fruits is in Matthew 7:20. And what are the fruits of the spirit? Galatians 5:22-23 Then you will understand if you read that :)

I had joy and peace at the beginning.

Then it turned to fear, I developed long suffering over things. I’m more patient. I forgive ppl for all they have done to me.

So maybe all my suffering is going to produce these gifts in abundance.

I haven’t had joy and peace in a long time. I have self control over many things but I lack self control In other things.

Folks I abandoned church over ten years ago. But I want to start going back.

I just want assurances I am saved.

V22 gives the answer...

Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? (Mat 7:22)

It's those relying on their works of service.

The false? Not sure what you mean...

Matthew 7:21-23
21 "Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.
22 Many will say to Me in that day, 'Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?'
23 And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!'

Have you ever thought about where the will of the Father starts? Christ told us that the First and Great Commandment is to love God with all of our being. This is where obedience to God's will begins. But, you know, the people in the above story never mention their obedience to this FIRST and GREAT Commandment. They talk about stuff they've done in Christ's name, but they never claim to love him. Christ spoke of such people:

Matthew 15:8
8 'These people draw near to Me with their mouth, And honor Me with their lips, But their heart is far from Me.

Lots of Christians live this way. They read their Bibles, and pray, and attend church regularly, but they don't actually have much - if any - love for God in their hearts. They are going through the motions, outwardly righteous but inwardly far from God. Horribly, these people will stand one day before Christ expecting one kind of warm reception from him but getting quite another.

Paul the apostle explained that all we say, and know, and do is useless spiritually if not saturated in a genuine love for God:

1 Corinthians 13:1-3
1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal.
2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.
3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing.

I think this is the point of Christ's story in Matthew 7:21-23.

The trouble with the false is that by the time their fruits are obvious, a great deal of damage has already been done. Some of them are really, really good at faking it.

But only if you let them damage you. Put a firm limit on how much trust you will give those who claim to be brothers. Give them just enough trust to have a chance to earn more of your trust. If they demand anything more than than, take it as a warning sign.

Hello Dabro. It's a most interesting passage.

Matthew 7:21-23 talks of people who like to be seen, who like attention, a floor show. They say that they prophesied, said they drove out demons and did mighty works. They will list their own perceived accomplishments and demand a reward. The Lord will say he never knew them, nor does he seem to recognise their claims of accomplishment.

Perhaps it's related to Matthew 6:4- then your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you. The true disciple does what is right before an audience of one, he does not seek the approval of man, the true disciple does not serve to exalt themselves, not for their glory but for the glory of the risen Lord. The true disciple knows that the Father sees all and will righteously judge- what sort of believer thinks they have to list their own accomplishments to an all-knowing God?

Eventually you'll meet someone this passage is speaking against- a self promoting, self-appointed, self aggrandising false Christian, in the Church but not part of it. Serving only himself.

God Bless :)

The bible says:

2Ti 2:19 Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.

Firstly, only the LORD knows, in reality, who are His and who are not. It is not our task to know who are and who are not saved. The bible tells us "judge nothing before its time".

The saved are those who trust in the LORD Jesus for salvation. If we trust that he died and rose again for us He classes us a justified. However to remain in the house, we need to as the bible says "depart from iniquity". If a person loves sin too much, and turns from Jesus they will lose their salvation. Sin has a blinding effect, it enslaves us to doubts. To rid our selves of doubts we need to purge ourselves of sin.

What if that’s me?

I always talk about how I don’t deserve anything. That if I do get to heaven that I’ll be a door man.

It’s says faith without works is dead faith.

When I first came to know Jesus I felt like I was chosen. But now I look back and beg God to forgive me. It was about what Jesus did, not something good in Mexico

Ppl like Jesse Duplantis say I can begot sheep. And say how he visited heaven.

Oh Lord I’m sorry, please forgive me. I know I’m a wretch.
