Do true miracles of God happen today?

A few years ago a friend of mine was injured and had to use a cane to walk. A bunch of us ladies all got together and laid hands on her and prayed over her. She later walked out of that place without any cane! She walked as if the accident had never happened.

15 Insomuch that they brought forth the sick into the streets, and laid them on beds and couches, that at the least the shadow of Peter passing by might overshadow some of them.

16 There came also a multitude out of the cities round about unto Jerusalem, bringing sick folks, and them which were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed every one.

....if so, why are we not seeing these open miracles?

To answer your question, yes, miracles do happen today.

Several years ago, the Holy Spirit led me to lay hands on my adult daughter and pray for her thyroid gland to be healed. Within a few minutes, the symptoms of low thyroid began to disappear. She had experienced these symptoms for years. Recent lab tests showed that her thyroid is normal.

I believe this was a miracle. Just one example of miracles I have witnessed.

I've witnessed prophecy.

Yes they do. I was healed of severe asthma-been free for over 6years. I have witnessed several miraculous hearings, a friend of mine got into an accident-hid car overturned and was damaged beyond repair (mangled) yet he came out alive. No one could deny that he survived miraculously. God is the same yesterday, today and forever

I don't think they happen constantly like they seem to back then. But they do happen still. Being considered "clinically dead" twice as a child, I'd call that two miracles.

Miracles happen a lot, but just like in old testament and new testament times, it's hard to really believe until it happens directly to you personally or directly to someone right in front of you; and even then some won't believe, but of course some will, just like in the old and new testament situations.
Prophecy and visions and dreams though are less witnessed about at least. I think these happen at times some already, but we may tend (or me) to unconsciously think it would be highlighted, as if with thunder or signs (because of things so dramatic we read in scripture). Nor should we expect them to usually stand and deliver in some really unusual way. I've not shared my own dream much, because who would be able to believe it but only the very closest friends? But, if children start in the future to more clearly give us more unexpected views or words about things that are coming, I'd definitely want to pay attention to that increase! Also, us being older, we can consider if we have a dream that is clearly being communicated, as I'm sure already some have had. But if they increase, that would be also something to listen to, and not get too used to, but to pay attention to what is said.

A few years ago I was went to Edinburgh, Indiana to walk around the quaint town center. I parked my car behind a warehouse by a park with a running track. I went for a walk in the village and after going several blocks and taking several turns, I became lost. I didn't know where I was in relation to my car. I asked several people if they knew where the park was with the running track, but they sent me in the wrong direction (to the local high school). I started to become afraid that I wouldn't get home, but right then I heard the Holy Spirit whisper inside me "Do not be afraid. Just follow me". Then He led me straight ahead to an intersection and the Holy Spirit said "Turn Left" so I did. And there on a public street, sitting out in front of a plumber's shop on the curb, underneath a black and white sign, was my CAR!!! I could barely believe my eyes. I took my key fob and clicked it... *Beep, Beep* it came unlocked. I grabbed my door handle and got in in unbelief. No windows were broken, it was locked, and nothing was missing! Then I began to wonder about the whole the situation.... I had locked the car, so how did anyone get in to drive it? It has a Push-button start, not a key start. If someone towed my car, why did they drop it off in front of a plumbers shop on a public street? And how could I have known right where to find it?

My only conclusion was that God, either had someone move my car to me and led me straight to it, or He PHYSICALLY picked up my car like a child's toy Himself and moved it where He would show me it was. Either way, it was a miracle, and I rode home feeling like the Child of the King being carried home in my Father's chariot.

Well some people differentiate miracles from healing. A miracle would be changing water to wine, feeding the five thousand, walking on water, etc. Gifts of miracles would in my opinion not be the same as gifts of healing.

Great example of how it will always happen that different people will use the same word (even a word as basic as 'faith' or 'communion') to mean different things.

Scary moment - nice testimony - miracles do happen then
It's the really tough situations that gives the Lord the opportunity to reveal himself and his saving power.

Have a look a Ezekiels river - the Angel is measuring the different depths of Faith.
