Yeah. What kind of loony defends the constitution?

The Roe vs. Wade ruling guaranteeing a woman the "constitutional right" to legally kill her unborn child was based on due-process clause of the 14th Amendment of "right to privacy" and the argument that abortion is guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution stands on some very shaky legal ground.

Excerpt: Why You’re Told There’s a Constitutional Right to Abortion

Abortion is not a constitutional right according to the strict text of the Constitution, but it has been justified as a constitutional right under the Fourth Amendment’s protection of privacy. In short, the constitutional right to abortion is found not in the Constitution itself, but in a loose reading of it.

The SCOTUS seems disagree that it is shaky legal ground. However my comment was in reference to the ACLU, not abortion in general.

And you mentioned defending the Constitution, which is why I replied with my rebuttal.

So ,if someone thinks they're pregnant. and might consider an abortion. It's better to go to a more liberal state. To get checked out.
Interesting law. The woman is not criminalized and there is no personhood for unimplanted fertilized ova.

No, it's better to put the baby up for adoption.

Having read a good portion of the bill, (and it does have common sense exceptions, “serious health issues”, including provisions for the “mental health of the woman” though quite stringent ones; also dead fetuses, or where there are serious health issues with the fetus that would prevent it from living outside of the mother but a few hours), it’s not quite as bad as I’d thought originally.
That said, no governor in the United States would sign this into law. The law is settled, SCOTUS “found” that the “right to privacy” includes if a woman who seeks to have an abortion is allowed, (by right), to obtain one, anywhere in these United States.
Crafting a law that directly challenges decades old law isn’t merely asking “if this is okay?” now that “we’ve got the votes to overturn Roe!”

Where would we be if, every year, some state writes a law that allows for discrimination in public accommodations if the discrimination is “only against Lithuanians”?
-Or-
What if some state “chooses” to outlaw gun ownership by any private citizen?

The quicker we can get back to the good old days where men and the law had 100% control over women the quicker we can get back to Making America Great by dissolving opposition to the wishes of the Elected Leader and his loyal followers.

How many homes in Alabama house unwanted babies that were put up for adoption?

It's like the homeless. People are all for helping them until a homeless shelter or person pops up on their street.

Don't argue against abortion and for adoption if you aren't prepared to put your morals where your mouth is.

Just what Alabama needs... another reason for people to leave.

Lots of people leave Alabama to spread “True” Christianity to the neighboring States and Nations. I had an English teacher who left on a mission to bring Christianity and the Gospel to the pagan inhabitants of Italy in 1989.

In the very unlikely event of Roe being overturned I can see some states going full pariah with dire economic consequences.

The same people who thunder about the government saying "maybe we should switch to non-plastic straws" and "maybe we should try to start using more eco-friendly light bulbs" are the same ones who say "the government should control women's bodies".
