I did admit in my post that it is possible that there are others I don't know about. But unless I am living in a secret transgendered bubble, I think that is unlikely. As I said, I know a few transgendered women personally, and I am pretty sure they are the only people I know well who are transgendered.

Again, most transsexuals are not going to advertise who they are. You could definitely know several more. Regardless, anecdotal evidence is not evidence.

But as I said, saying they "pass" as female is a straw man. It doesn't matter if they "pass" or not - what matters is the person in the event we are discussing didn't "pass", otherwise there would have been no issue.

Clearly not in this instance.

You are assuming facts that are not in evidence. In fact, I think the story indicates the transsexual passed very well -- otherwise the girl would not have been so surprised to see male genitals.

Or maybe they could try prayer.

You're kidding yourself if you think that has not been tried by a large number of transsexuals, with no success. This type of thinking is very similar to those who used to believe the mentally ill were "evil" and "possessed" because they could not pray themselves (or be prayed) to be better.

I have only been counting people to whom I am friendly enough to know personally and know a little about their history (e.g. my transgender sister). So, in the subset of people who I do know personally I can be certain that these are the only ones. It would be rather a big coincidence if it just so happened that these particular transgendered people were peculiar and different from all other others.

Not at all. The article states that the girl was surprised by a "male voice" in the changing rooms, and turning round was confronted with male genitals. I wouldn't call that "passing".

Then they need to pray harder. Everyone has their crosses to bear. It obviously does work for some since there are plenty of cases of previously transgendered people who have transitioned back to their original gender.
