Don't feel so badly.
My son has an artist friend -- you know, a real artist. He can't sell his paintings because they're too dark.
He works for a book publishing company as an editor...no money in paintings; his art.

Another one is a graphic artist. He did the art work for Tron, many years ago. He does work at this but it's not easy.

So, it's a difficult field to even get into.
Enjoy your hobby...you're very good.
And this means you drew that eye in your avatar.
