I'll just leave this here:
No, Trump didn't sign a bill this month to clean up oceans
No, Trump didn't sign a bill this month to clean up oceans

By Ciara O'Rourke on Wednesday, March 27th, 2019 at 2:39 p.m.

Between the Mueller report and efforts to undo the Affordable Care Act, is President Donald Trump taking on marine trash?

"President Trump signed legislation to clean up millions of tons of trash from our oceans and lakes last week," reads the text of a Facebook post published on March 21, 2019. "But the media won’t report on that… ever."

This post was flagged as part of Facebook’s efforts to combat false news and misinformation on its News Feed. (Read more about our partnership with Facebook.)

We’ve checked a similar claim before. In late January, an article posted to Facebookclaimed that Trump had signed a bill "to clean millions of tons of garbage from the world’s oceans."

The story was referring to the Save Our Seas Act of 2018, which Trump signed on Oct. 11. He then said that more than 8 million tons of garbage is dumped into oceans every year and that the law "will help address this problem."

But Jordana Merran, communications manager for Ocean Conservancy, a nonprofit that supported the Save Our Seas Act and celebrated its passage, said it’s not accurate to summarize the legislation as a bill to "clean millions of tons of garbage from the world’s oceans."

Rather, the law Trump signed reauthorizes "the longstanding amount of $10 million annually" for NOAA’s Marine Debris Program, she said.
tulc(wonders if the reason it didn't get reported by "the media" was because it isn't true?)

Trump got credit in the media today for encouraging vaccination. I live in Canada, it was reported on here. I know it was reported on in the US too bc my friends who live in Cali have posted links about it today, from different sources. So he did get credit for finally doing what's right.

Or as it would be called if a Democrat had done what President Trump did today: "President Trump flip-flopped today on kids getting vaccinations."
President Trump Might Not Be an Anti-Vaxxer Anymore
The president’s endorsement of vaccines, which comes as the U.S. is experiencing its worst measles outbreak in decades, is notable because of Trump’s history of conspiratorial thinking on the subject. In the years leading up to his presidential run, he tweeted several times to advance the long-debunked notion that vaccines are linked with autism.

Healthy young child goes to doctor, gets pumped with massive shot of many vaccines, doesn't feel good and changes - AUTISM. Many such cases!
- Mar 28, 2014
And in a 2015 GOP debate, he said, “Autism has become an epidemic … I am totally in favor of vaccines. But I want smaller doses over a longer period of time.”

Perhaps even more troublingly, Trump flirted with appointing notorious anti-vaxxer Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to a vaccine-study commission shortly after he took office, before pulling the plug on that disastrous idea.

Oh trust me, I know that fully but thx for pointing that out for the benefit of other ppl. My sister has Asperger's. She was diagnosed with it b4 being vaccinated. She's an advocate for vaccines. She's in med school now! She has had ppl call her "vaccine injured" & talk about the bullpoop Trump has said about vaccines. I can't put into words how extremely offensive & upsetting that lie is. It's mega hurtful. I'm friends IRL with Ella from here. Vaccines are mega personal to her too, she's a major advocate for them. Like not just on the internet advocating for them, she interned for the reelection campaigns of the Cali senators who wrote the law on vaccines last yr & this yr is working for the congressman who got Amazon to take down Vaxxed. I just saw she finally came back here! She posted about this too. I agree with her!!!! Yes, he is an idiot

I was just trying to be positive bc Trump finally did say something right & the media did give him credit for that. Doesn't mean he doesn't deserve to be held accountable for all the harm caused by what he said b4 tho but it can't be said that the media failed to give him any credit for what he just said. It is good he said for ppl to get vaccinated. It would have been way better if he'd said that way b4 now, of course.

No they didn't. Trump didn't sign such a bill. He signed a piece of legislature similar to the one Obama signed in 2012 which provides $10,000,000 to promote international action to reduce marine debris, and for other purposes. Hopefully, the effect will help eliminate millions of tons of debris from the oceans.

The meme that you provided originated on Face Book but was removed for false or misleading information.

I really think we need to be able to flag stuff here that is false or misleading.
