We do not have to be baptized in water to be saved. It is expected, but it's not a requirement for salvation.
Please recite verses that support this, not just your opinion. The bible is based on facts.
If you don't know already, the NT is written in Koine Greek. The word baptized for example like in Acts 2:38 means:
baptizō = to dip repeatedly, to immerse, to submerge (of vessels sunk)
Don't be blind to what these words actually say and mean. Plenty of verses contest what your idea is. And I am studied enough in scripture to know you have no ground on this matter.
Acts 2:38 also states that we are baptized "FOR" the remission of sins. The Greek word is "eis" which means "FOR" in this case. "Eis" NEVER EVER means "because of". Only when you are baptized do you receive remission of sins AND get the Holy Spirit. You cannot obtain these without baptism. John went around preaching this Mark 1:4
Acts 22:16 = Paul had to "wash away his sins"
Acts 8:36-38 = The Ethiopian studied with Philip enough to know he needed baptism. "look here is water, what hinders me?" He got baptized in water, it was a requirement.
Jesus was baptized in water.
Titus 3:5 = "by the washing of regeneration"
1 Peter 3:20-21 = Baptism saves you.
Getting baptized is the ONLY way you can put on Christ Galatians 3:26-27
To argue against that any further with such scriptures... I will have nothing more to say, and I have done my job according to scripture. You will have no excuses.
Hebrews is a fairly controversial chapter which I need further study on. Perhaps someone else can address this one.
Controversial?!
That's the first time I heard that. Is that what the denominational world is spouting now? That Hebrews 11 is controversial?
I know why they would say that though. It flies right in their faces and contradicts their false doctrine of "just believe and you'll be okay. You dont need to do anything". That is a stack of lies. The bible is chalk full of things that counter that false teaching.
I find that it is actually quite an easy read, and very believable. James 2 even ties together with that chapter.
Oh... is it controversial because it ties in with James 2? Denominational world cant have that.
You will either believe the scriptures or you won't. It's your choice. I am just the messenger.
