And not do? i am trying to figure out what I will need to do and not do on my day of rest. I read this article here on the Shabbat which give some good pointers, for the Jews:

http://www.ifcj.org/assets/pdfs/limmud_oct_sabbath_final.pdf

For Gentiles, I am wondering what you guys do and don't do if you won't mind sharing please?

This will be an uphill battle for me to try to figure out all that's involved here and adjust. I am a computer Tech so that runs my life but I can give up work and phone and general computing for one day but wondering if it will be ok for me to use the computer only to do bible studies and watch only biblical channels like Daystar on TV and only Biblical Movies?

We do not need to keep any sabbath under the New Covenant. But the early New Covenant believers usually held a church on Sunday. I normally rest from weight lifting and aerobics (daily routines) two days in a row each week to let my body heal.

Other than attending to the fellowship and gathering of the church, I typically spend most of the day reading/listening to the Scriptures, sermons, books (and praying); I don't mind listening to instrumental music (that's what I listen to anyways on a regular basis); I do watch documentaries on certain things for educational purposes (or a teaching series); I often times play on the synthesizer, record some stuff; I do laundry, I don't consider that a "secular employment," and other things; I read and watch the news.

I'm not always faithful, but I tend to avoid certain recreations in my own personal life that would be an unnecessary distraction in my conscience.

I don’t maintain a day of rest. First, my family life is not particularly conducive to a day of rest. Second, I don’t believe that either Jesus or Paul taught that a day of rest is required for followers of Christ.

“For this reason the Jews persecuted Jesus, and sought to kill Him, because he had these things on the Sabbath. But Jesus answered them, “My Father has been working until now, and I have been working.”

Therefore the Jews sought all the more to kill Him, because He not only broke the Sabbath, but also said that God was His Father, making Himself equal with God.” - John 5:16-18 NKJV

“One person esteems one day above another; another esteems every day alike. Let each be fully convinced in his own mind. He who observes the day, observes it to the Lord; and he who does not observe the day, to the Lord he does not observe it.” - Romans 14:5-6a
NKJV

“So let no one judge you in food or in drink, or regarding a festival or new moon or sabbaths, which are a shadow of things to come, but the substance is of Christ.” - Colossians 2:16-17 NKJV

The Sabbath rest that was commanded of the Jews in the Old Testament is, as Paul says above in the Colossians passage, a shadow of things to come, that rest from our labors that we find in and through Jesus:

“Therefore, since a promise remains of entering His rest, let us fear lest any of you seem to have come short of it. For indeed the gospel was preached to us as well as to them; but the word which they heard did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in those who heard it. For we who have believed do enter that rest...” - Hebrews 4:1-3a NKJV

Oh man, today was my true rest day, a day where I didn't do cardio and I didn't lift. These days are rare, and although I hate my rest days, they are vital to the rest / recovery cycle lol

I go to services whenever I can, where we pray, sing, study, and talk about the L_RD and the Bible.
At home, I study the Bible and books on biblical subjects.
It's a great time for prayer.
I use my computer for my studies.
I use my computer to talk to people like you.

I have several days throughout the months during which I am housebound, even some times of being bedridden, so the computer is often my study tool.

I don't buy or sell, do work -- and Sabbath is a great excuse for just snacking and not having to cook!

But I don't do Daystar. In fact, I only do Daystar if David Jeremiah is on. Ooo! Like Mountainmanbob, I like RC Sproul a WHOLE lot. :D

"Rest" your life in Jesus. That is the sabbath now.
