Hi there,
This Easter I donated to the Salvation Army and the Christian Blind Mission (
Home | CBM).
I usually give donations to a couple of various charities around Easter and Christmas time.
What did you do this Easter?
Regards
Lee
*Moderators you can move my thread if needbe, I wasn't sure where to post this. Thanks.
So I want to make sure everyone understands that I am not critical of how other people give to charity. What I do, is simply how I see it.
I personally do not like the idea that I only help others when there is a special occasion. Somehow that just rubs me the wrong way.
So I have my charities as an automatic withdraw from my checking account monthly.
Currently, I support 3 charities. As a general rule, I don't tell people what charities I give to, but I will tell you what they do. One helps young abused women. Another is specific charity that helps people caught in human trafficking. And the last specializes in international disaster relief.
Why don't I tell people what charities I give to? I don't know. I just never have. Maybe it's just me, but I feel weird if I say "I give to XXX charity!", and people say "oh you are such a good man"... yeah I wish. No, I'm a screwed up man, who is just trying to follow G-d. You just don't know me yet.
So I don't have to worry, oh is such-an-such a day coming up, do I have any money to give? Because I've been giving year-around.
Also, I picked the charities I support, based on what really felt was important in my life.
I would suggest you do the same. If there is something in this world, that really bothers you, then find a charity that deals with that thing, and donate to it.
