I literally can't quite fathom what you're saying. The only New Covenant words of God were tongues and prophecy that Paul said spoke mysteries. And Paul said he spoke in tongues more than all. So it makes sense that these along with Christ's words became the NT scriptures, that when collected gave the full revelation.
Paul says to come behind in no gift waiting for the revelation of Jesus Christ.I am asking for just a verse. Not rereading a gambit.
God watches over his word. So some probably made the cut and others did not.So did scribes collect all the tongues going around all the churches to provide the full revelation?
This is also extra-biblical speculation.God watches over his word. So some probably made the cut and others did not.
It is speculation that makes sense. What other NT words were there? This is also extra-biblical speculation.
None of this is anywhere in the NT. We have no record whatsoever in the NT that people were collecting and interpreting tongues all over in order to compile scripture.
In fact, this is ironically on the level of weird I've seen many Pentecostals claim about tongues.
Yes, I told you I'm losin' it ...
the RCC and EOC took the Corinthians 13
passage and blew it up into cessationism
that included ALL of the good spiritual
stuff they did NOT have ...
the 3 items above in 1 Corinthians 13
+ the baptism with the Holy Spirit
+ all 9 spiritual power gifts in 1 Corin. 12
+ the 5-fold ministry in Ephesians 4:11
+ who knows what other spiritual things?
All that's left is ...
Believe what we teach you
+ Do what we tell you
+ Confess to a priest (not to God)
+ Pray to Mary and the saints
+ Pay lots of tithes
+ who knows what other unspiritual things?
Old testament = through a glass darkly. New Testament = face to face. So, check this out. You ever notice or heard of this?
1 Cor 13:12, this is still talking of the "ceasing", Paul says, "now we see in a mirror, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I am also known"
So, then = when tongues ceases
then we will see Him face to face. Anyone claiming they are seeing him face to face today in a manner that Paul and the Apostles couldn't?
then *I* (Paul) shall know just as I am known. Paul indicates that he will see and experience this moment (when tongues ceases) personally. Only problem is, Paul passed away long before the scriptures were completed. uh, oh!
If you know how one denomination believes, you know how every member believes.
You share common beliefs with Pentecostals.I don't belong to a particular denomination. And which denominational bias are you reflecting?
Unfortunately i dont have a denom i follow guess you didnt know that. I had to pick one for CF.If you know how one denomination believes, you know how every member believes.
True BACs see Jesus face to face (in heaven) either when they die or just after He comes back. So, what's the problem?1 Cor 13:12, this is still talking of the "ceasing", Paul says, "now we see in a mirror, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I am also known"
You still come out of the same mold or you wouldn't be on this thread.Unfortunately i dont have a denom i follow guess you didnt know that. I had to pick one for CF.
I know this from experience. Believe it or not, I really do understand where you're coming from. If we were having this discussion prior to 2011, I would be on your side telling the others that they don't know what they're talking about. Our spirits have been re-born. We are still waiting for our souls and body to be redeemed. When that happens, we will be perfect and will no longer have the need for gifts. God will not love you any less if you don't and will not love you any more if you do.You know this how?
Then why are you here? Fortunately, He is the potter and i the clay. He made me from the unicorn mold. You still come out of the same mold or you wouldn't be on this thread.
