The day we celebrate the Resurrection which we call Easter was founded on prejudice and has pagan roots that date back thousands of years. If We would celebrate HIS Resurrection it should be done on the end of Passover week not tomorrow. That was when it happened. Solomen thought that there was no issue with ascribing to the pagan practice of sacrificing in high places to our GOD. His intentions were pure but it is recorded as a short coming.... Solomon demonstrated his loyalty to the LORD by following the practices of his father David, EXCEPT that he offered sacrifices and burned incense on the high places.

Do you have sources for the claim that Easter has pagan roots? What does it mean for a holiday to have "pagan roots"?
That was not posted, This was posted, "The day we celebrate the Resurrection which we call Easter was founded on prejudice and has pagan roots that date back thousands of years."
The Day in which was chosen is the issue.

In answering your question, Here is an excerpt taken from here The Ancient Pagan Origins of Easter

"Most historians, including Biblical scholars, agree that Easter was originally a pagan festival. According to the New Unger’s Bible Dictionary: “The word Easter is of Saxon origin, Eastra, the goddess of spring, in whose honour sacrifices were offered about Passover time each year. By the eighth century Anglo–Saxons had adopted the name to designate the celebration of Christ’s resurrection.” However, even among those who maintain that Easter has pagan roots, there is some disagreement over which pagan tradition the festival emerged from. Here we will explore some of those perspectives...."

How is the Resurrection of our Lord pagan? How is choosing to celebrate His victory over death on Sunday, the Lord's day, the day of the week on which He rose- pagan?

This isn't a conspiracy to introduce pagan ideas into Christianity its ignorance of history.
And how does this apply to the Opening Post? History SCREAMS what is shared in the opening post.

What are you referring to as 'Passover week'?
When do you say that He was crucified?

There's already been an extended discussion on this same subject in the last week — it ended up getting locked for being off the topic of the OP (which it was), but it's still there if anyone's interested: Why Easter seems less celebrated than Christmas ?

The day we celebrate the Resurrection which we call Easter was founded on prejudice

Prejudice against whom?

"Most historians, including Biblical scholars, agree that Easter was originally a pagan festival. According to the New Unger’s Bible Dictionary: “The word Easter is of Saxon origin, Eastra, the goddess of spring, in whose honour sacrifices were offered about Passover time each year. By the eighth century Anglo–Saxons had adopted the name to designate the celebration of Christ’s resurrection.”

Not true. The earliest Christians who celebrated Jesus' resurrection didn't call it "Easter" at all. They called it Pascha, which is the Greek equivalent of Pesach, i.e. Passover. Eastern Orthodox Christians still call it Pascha. Nearly all Western European languages use a variant of Pascha as their name for the celebration of the resurrection — except for German and English (Ostern and Easter, respectively).

The funny thing about the supposed goddess Eastra, or Eostre, or Ostara (her name seems to be different in every source that makes these "Easter is pagan" claims) is that almost nothing seems to be known about her from contemporary sources, i.e. from the actual pre-Christian Saxons themselves. And even if the Saxons did believe in a spring goddess of that name and honour her at the beginning of spring, she seems to have been pretty quickly superseded when the ALREADY EXISTING festival of Pascha — Christ's resurrection — was introduced to the Saxons along with Christianity. In any case, she, like all pagan deities, never actually existed. Christ did, and does.

Even if true what is so bad about having Easter on a pagan holiday? That by itself does not mean we are celebrating the same thing it is just that it happens to land on the same day.

Agreed. The first Christians didn't start celebrating Easter (or Pascha, rather) because the pagans were celebrating spring deities. They started celebrating because "He is risen!" Because that celebration does happen to fall around the beginning of spring, various symbols from pre-existing spring festivals (such as eggs for new life) got incorporated into the Resurrection celebrations over the years in various cultures. But that doesn't mean that Easter IS a pagan festival. If we were still believing in and worshipping an imaginary spring goddess, it would be. We're not, and it isn't.

Every year somebody wants to argue that Christmas and Easter has pagan roots, like it is going to change. I think it is just satan trying to stop the celebration. After all it is the celebration of His defeat.

My wife and I were just talking about this yesterday. With all the important and difficult things going on in all of our lives, how silly it is to get worked up over dates. Especially dates that celebrate Christ.

Where's your proof for your claim? Why is it so wrong to celebrate Christ's resurrection on the day He rose from the dead- Sunday?

History; He rose after the last day of Passover.

Uggg. Practicing pagan sacrifice is different than a date. A date is a date. We have one everyday.
