Bernie Sanders says that the government is corrupt. His solution is to increase the size and control of the government in our lives. Seems legit.
Actually he is going to shift the tax burden and start spending our blood sweat and tears on average Americans instead of supporting the richest 1%.

He says that. But.....

He is driving a $172,000 dollar sports car. How do you think he paid for it? Your tax dollars at work.

Edit: That is not really Bernie Sanders. He actually drives a $100,000 dollar tesla.

Bernie says the government is corrupted by big money, and funds his campaign on almost all small contributions from individual donors.

Now on another point, I think Yang is correct in his critique of one of Sander's other issues. Yang notes that increasing the minimum wage would only speed up the process of automating jobs in the short run.

I am not sure, however, how workable his alternative is, of UBI. The issue is one that is likely to accelerate as Yang notes, as AI starts to replace call center workers, etc. For instance, in the insurance industry, it went from minimal automated phone routing, to fully automated phone routing, to now reporting entire claims to an AI. And white collar intellectual jobs may be even easier to automate than blue collar jobs, as the AI only has to replace the thinking power, which is what it excels at, as opposed to manipulating physical components.

Not to mention that it was a complete disaster in Seattle.

So he says.

Yes, so he says, and so says the data so far based on amount raised and number of donors. There is still the PAC money and all of course.

But compared to say Clinton last time who openly courted big donors and even funneled money raised for state campaigns into her own coffers, I would say things appear to be a bit more above board.

Bernie was excited about Amazon's minimum wage raise to $15 dollars. However, after a while the news trickled out that they got rid of incentive pay, stock for years service etc. resulting in perhaps breaking even, perhaps less money altogether over time. It was more a cynical avoidance of bad headlines.

The point is that he doesn't want you to have that car.

I think he would be fine with you having that car. He just also wants folks to have insurance.

He did mention that he doesn't want full socialism in the sense of means of production etc., but wanted more of a regulated capitalism. I really think the embrace of the term socialism helped get him initial headlines, but in the long run is a liability. People don't grasp the nuances between "Socialism" and "Democratic Socialism" (and others would say there is no difference at all).

They would be better to call it reformed capitalism, or something along those lines.

He wants everyone to have a chance at having that car. Not just the richest 1% that didn't get a book deal with a wide audience.

I wouldn't mind a Bernie presidency. Interest rates would go through the roof, and I would prosper greatly. :D

And socialism would enter the country, the rich and wealthy, the ones with the brains, will leave the country and what will be left will be idiots with no one to earn money for the masses. Hello weak and pathetic America....you're about to be toppled if you let this happen.

Who doesn't have a chance at a car? Who is being restricted from having a car? I've never met one person who said that they can't get a car because of their race, religion or gender.

Oh sure, he may run. Every US american can run, including a guy wearing a boot on his head. But the DNC won't let him run as a democrat, and independents have no chance in the american voting system.

He’s already running as a Democrat, and there have been a number of articles in recent days about how the old Clinton wing are terrified about it, including that noxious creature David Brock. The thing is this race is very different to the one in ‘16, and they don’t know how to stop him this time. I’m sure they’ll try of course, but they’re aware that if they try too publicly it’ll just hand him more support.

Maybe you should review the math. How will spending less on healthcare bankrupt the u.s.?

By adding massive new spending to the federal budget. The numbers have been put forward, and hand waved away , already in the thread I don’t plan to rehash them.
