Well, that still seems like a rather arbitrary set of division. A rather contrived way of parsing the Olivet discourse.

Matthew 24:34, everything would happen to that generation, Appears to apply to everything Jesus has said. Up to that point.
Not if you realize the great tribulation happened in 70 AD. And then find each instance describing the end of the world. There are 4 total.

All of those end of World references could just be typical Old Testament poetic references to a national judgment

Possibly, but even those enter into prophetic jargon depicting judgement and the end.

we must read Matthew 24:8 in the original Greek, not modern English

the primary meaning is the pangs of childbirth

Blue Letter Bible - Lexicon
I think Isaiah 66:7-9 is more direct.

We have a worldwide known event of Israel become a nation again in a day in 1948 to go by. And that Jews, Israel have not embraced Jesus yet as the messiah.

That was fulfilled with the birth of Jesus Christ as the Messiah and as symbolized in revelation 12

technically. Just as much of a "nation" as they ever were. A Nation is defined by nativity birth blood ethnicity. Jews are just as much ethnically. Jewish. As they ever were. 1948 a new nation. Only a new polity a new state. a new country, perhaps.

Hi Erik,

I am thinking one nation again as the two stick of Judah and Ephraim joined together, in Ezekiel 37.

Ezekiel 37:22 And I will make them one nation in the land upon the mountains of Israel; and one king shall be king to them all: and they shall be no more two nations, neither shall they be divided into two kingdoms any more at all:

President Trump just move the embassy there recently, acknowledging Jerusalem as the capital. We are in the end times.

Ezekiel 37 was fulfilled in the first century:

Ezekiel 37:27
I will be their God, and they will be my people.

2 Corinthians 6:16
What agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God; as God said, “I will make my dwelling among them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

@LittleLambofJesus

James 1:10-11, James 2:5-6, especially James 5:1-6 alludes to Micah 6:9-16, "destruction of the city"

meanwhile, Jude 18 quotes 2 Peter 3:3, 2 Timothy 3:1 "last days", and says those references which were future tense in 2 Peter, 2 Timothy, were then present tense in Jude 18

all supports a strong form of Preterism
