It amazes me that people argue for something without realizing any facts or the law.

Sanctuary cities do not encourage illegal immigration, but they do want immigrants to be able to report crimes such as rape, theft, sexual assault, battery, and murder without the fear of being checked.

The LAW, pesky thing that it is, says that immigration is a federal responsibility. Federal judges usually do not like executive authority used to "punish" political enemies which Trump clearly indicated was his reason.

Anyone hear of the Hatch Act? Anyone????

The Hatch Act - a 1939 federal law that bars executive branch employees from participating in certain types of political activity on government time or using the government’s resources for political purposes.

Trumps ICE officials snubbed the idea of dumping immigrants in Sanctuary Cities because then they would be liable regarding the Hatch Act. And what sanctuary cities would he have chosen? There are quite a few sanctuary cities and counties in Iowa, and North Carolina, Michigan, and Minnesota, Colorado, Nebraska, and cities or counties in Louisiana, Mississippi, Kansas, Georgia, Florida
and Nevada, and more. If Trump picked just Pelosi's area or just blue states, that is a VERY clear violation of the Hatch Act and it will go to court. The employees carrying it out would be also liable.

And has anyone noted the inherent racism in taking that procedure with immigrants from Central America, but not at all from Canada? Perhaps Trump thinks all immigrants coming via Canada are lily white?

I honestly believe we are fast approaching a point were we need to realize congress is not going to be part of the solution. Neither are these laws. Laws only affect those that will abide by them and have the moral convictions to do so. But in today's society where we have the Dems doing what ever they so chose, and demanding you follow the rules they have written, you will never accomplish anything. Not only did they write the laws society follows, but they cheat, and refuse to follow the law themselves.

Honest to God. I hope Trump sends every single one of these illegals to sanctuary states. They get caught outside of a sanctuary city, they get deported right back to that city. I am tired of all the platitudes concerning issues that affect my life. Crush them with their own policies, and issue they want imposed.

People are fleeing Central America for real security issues....it has nothing to do with American politics.

What about all the Africans now on the southern border of Mexico trying to get to the American border? That's about 9,000 miles. Did they swim? How did thousands of people from 9,000 miles away get to the Mexican border?

You'll have to ask the Africans. But the same principle applies: People flee their home countries for a variety of reasons...none of which has anything to do with American political debate. The mother trying to save her own life could really care less what the latest spin is from Trump or Pelosi.

Asylum seekers want shelter and protection. These people seem fixated on getting released into our country for jobs and opportunities. Not shelter or protection. That is an abuse of our system we can not sustain.

It is also kind of silly to think America is the only asylum nation within 9,000 miles for you to go to and apply for asylum.

For sure, there are some who are using Asylum as a means to get in to find work. But many others are in fact fleeing violence that pervades urban neighborhoods across Central American countries such as Honduaras:
