WOODLAND PARK, N.J. – At least 587 cases have been confirmed over the last few years of an emerging fungus infection, identified by U.S. health authorities as "a serious global health threat."

Centered primarily in the New York City area, the Chicago area and New Jersey, Candida auris infections had spread to a dozen states by the end of February, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported.

The fungus – also referred to as C. auris – is resistant to some or all antifungal medicines, which makes it harder to treat, the CDC says.

An additional 1,056 patients were "colonized" with the fungus, but did not show symptoms, the CDC said. They were identified through screenings in seven states where patients had become sick with the fungal infection.

Yikes.

Well that's a hearse of a different color...

Strange. Did they say how the infection is transmitted, what is its source?

Fungal spores are usually transmitted through the air or water

Could it be a fungus who people whom aren't compromised to begin with don't have an issue with, seeing how it seems to be a blood infection contracted in hospitals by people who have heart catheter type of insertions?

Hi dave,

Well, I don't know about the fungal properties, but it would be the work of the fourth horseman.

God bless,
In Christ, ted
. Most likely caused by ignorant human over use of antifungals. Just as human ignorance caused that measles outbreak we’are having in NYC right now. Measles is completely preventable but these people were fooled into not getting their kids or themselves vaccinated . NYC has ordered mandatory vaccination for some Brooklyn residents because of this

Getting vaccinated doesn't guarantee immunity!

I was born in 1971. I got all the vaccinations the CDC schedule called for of kids of my generation. I joined the military in 1990 and got revaccinated for everything all over again.

Back in 2012 I went back to school and because they could not find my vaccination records, I had to have titers done. The only vaccination I'd had that was still deemed "sufficient immunity" was Polio. I'd had whooping cough as an adult (that was unpleasant) and chicken pox as a child - so I had "sufficient immunity" for those too. I also had "sufficient immunity" for things not normally found in the civilian population (like Typhus, yellow fever and Anthrax). And also I was sufficient for Tetanus because I'd had a tetanus shot in the past 10 years.

So I had to get all those child vaccinations all over again before I could attend college.

So, moral of the story is - just because you've been vaccinated, don't automatically make you immune.

Hi brightmoon,

Sure, I understand how viral and fungal and bacterial infections are transmitted. However, the Scriptures tell us that the fourth horseman was given power over the earth to kill a fourth of the global population by famine, plague, pestilence, etc. So, while I understand how all these things are passed and all that we try to do in our human power to overcome the issues, there is the 'fact' that the Scriptures tell us that they are coming from the fourth horseman.

God bless,
In Christ, ted

IMHO human ignorance (and a British doctor’s lie)caused the measles epidemic . The fungal problem is also due to ignorance of how natural selection works . Evolution denial does cause problems

anyone familiar with how the immune system works could have told you that . It’s why you have to get tetanus shots every 10 years . If the system has nothing to fight it basically stands down sometimes

Yet you are told these vaccines are suppose to give you "life time immunity". Some vaccines are better than others. Some are more effective than others. Some aren't worth the vial they put them in and some are down right dangerous.
