Arizona Law Leaves Schools Struggling To Navigate LGBTQ Issues At least seven states have curriculum laws that limit how teachers can talk about LGBTQ relationships. Of all those laws, Arizona's is the only one that bans promoting "a homosexual life-style."

Some of those laws are now problematic, such as Texas' law. "Homosexual lifestyles" are accepted by most of the public, and laws that prohibit what two gay people do sexually in the privacy of their homes were ruled unconstitutional years ago by the Supreme Court.

No school is systematic promoting a homosexual lifestyle - students whose sexual orientation are not heterosexual exist in every school, often suffering in silence facing the very real risks of higher suicide rates and other forms of mental illness because they don't understand as to why they can never be like everyone else.

Young homosexuals, bisexuals, etc, have at the very least the right to have the knowledge that will allow them come to terms with their lives, while teaching the rest of the student body that society doesn't need to treat them like pariahs!

When I was in high school, I remember the openly gay kids were disproportionately singled out for bullying. It was sad to see that happen. I’m all in favor of teaching anti-bullying classes. But teaching kids how to have LGBT relationships shouldn’t be taught. The Bible says that homosexuality is sinful.

uhmmm...the above is a reason it shouldn't be taught in Church, not school. :sorry:

I did not date in highschool. Never had a girl friend.
So I got called a lot of names including some epithets for being gay, even though I am as hetero as they come.

Well, generally people have to work out relationships for themselves, it's not something that can be taught, really.

These kinds of laws are really meant to silence any realistic talk about homosexuality, and that's dangerous in an age when sexually transmitted diseases are still a thing and people need realistic information, not moralism and judgmentalism.

That's one reason many people in the LGBTQ+ movement also try to address homophobia directed at people merely perceived as gay, because straight kids can be victimized by homophobia too.

Other than sexual partner, what's the difference between a homosexual lifestyle and a heterosexual lifestyle?
When it comes to sex ed it actually matters. For instance, a lot of same-sex couples don't use safe sex practices because of the perception that safe sex is only about preventing babies. If anything, it gives even more reason to specifically include those kinds of modules in sex ed.

The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reports that 1 in 5 homosexual men have HIV/AIDS. Basically, one lifestyle is much more dangerous than the other.

Not inherently so. If that was the case, then the majority of HIV/AIDS infections in the developing world wouldn't be greatest among girls from 15-19. Global HIV and AIDS statistics. In the US a large chunk of the difference is from same sex couples not using condoms because condoms in the US are primarily used as a method of birth control, not disease prevention.

I was talking about HIV/AIDS in the US. See the above two links that I posted.

And numbers from other parts of the world indicate that it's not more inherently dangerous. It's a matter of education, which ironically enough you are trying to use the data to justify not giving people.

I think you may have misread what the link says
from the first link said:
1 in 6 gay and bisexual men with HIV are unaware they have it.
that's not saying 1-5 of all gay/bisexual men are HIV positive, it's saying 1 in 6 of those who are HIV-positive are unaware of being so. See the difference?
tulc(is simply pointing out something he noticed) :)
