For better or worse, the branding that televangelists have is that they're scammers. Is that true of all of them? Maybe, maybe not. But that is their branding and many of them don't seem interested in changing that.
If nothing else, my critique of televangelism has always been that they give viewers the idea that it's okay to stay home and watch other people attend service rather than attend service themselves. If you're sitting on your back side watching TV, you're not "in church". Period.

Its really a hard thing to answer since I don't know the hearts of each one. But some admittedly use people for money. I used to say these people teach "prosperity" teachings, but the reality is they use people. They live well off and they know it means people will listen to them thinking God will "bless" them with such wealth. Osteen is a good example of that.
That said obviously not every televangelist does it for the money. Not all live luxurious lives. But as we know in the end times, more will turn to these half gospel teachers which means there will be more of them as time goes on.

I would focus on elevated the good in the situation. Not to say that they should never be critiqued. But to critique them in a lens where they already lose despite possible evidence that would argue otherwise would be unfair.
Plus giving is good for charity and for taxes. Instead of pitching towards being more stingy, maybe people should take more advantage on giving and doing research on who they should give to. The wealthiest do give a lot, both to churches and outside organizations, it’s a double-fold blessing, you can’t lose giving!

Forgive me this is like those tabloid news papers we see at the check out stand. Or those few people in Church that get together to gossip. So know this STOPS GOD in His place.
Your talking about people that are not here can not defend them selfs. Your not here to HELP them encourage them lift them up pray for them.
You have "MANY of them teach/preach are false" then " Pentecostal/Word of Faith" <--thats where MOST of the problems come from. I was saved in a Baptist Chruch talked about HELL! Then raised pentecostal.. I know word of faith. So I am most of the problem? Dont know you..
Lets brake this down.. I almost never do. Word of Fiath.. would you like a LIST of the names that NEVER ask for money? Dont worry some will STILL find something they hate. One of them FACT PROVEN get THOUSANDS saved every day. Since the statement of fake or false converts was 1st said.. then prove what you stated or say nothing.
The 2nd post shows Tilton.. do you know how he got started? Do you know of the problems he has had in life that the TV WORLDLY NEWS never told you? Did you even ask him? Did you ever even pray for him? Well at least Christ NEVER left him. Never judged him never condemned him.
Then we have Osteen not really sure what the problem is with him. Other then he preaches allot different then one is use to..HOLY JESUS.. cant anyone tell GOD that He picks the wrong ones right?
Then Swaggart and Bakker. Strange how we .. the BODY OF CHRIST treat those out front different when the fall.. fail. We see the REAL people children of God then. Case in point Bakker. Did you or anyone you know go see him when he was in prison? One did.. Billy Graham. Was a shock to Bakker for no ONE came. Billy Graham was waiting when he got out to help him. You me did what? I did nothing man I didnt even pray for him. Oh but I LOVE JESUS! Swaggart...how many times do I have to forgive my brother/sister? Did you even forgive ANY of these people ONCE?
So..help me here. So when you became a believer follower of Jesus.. STOPPED every bad thing you ever did? No.. some of you kNOW things got worse. You started having thoughts ideas bad things happening around you when it was NEVER like that. It was as if knowing JESUS gave you some target on your back for the enemy. Yet.. you fall you fail.. and yet HERE YOU ARE saying YOU LOVE JESUS!
Should not JESUS treat you the same way you treat HIS Kids? Carful where you walk here..this I Know.. you me are not gods. We dont know the heart of any man. And to many times in your life all people see is some sinner..yet when your alone.. you cry weep to change.. you repent over and over..every night for some of you. Yet here you are KNOWING Jesus will forgive you but you wont treat His kids the same way He treated treats will treat you.

Well to make sure you heard read "Jesus came in the flesh died on the cross for the worlds sins was buried rose from the dead on the 3rd day is the only way to the Father. <---sorry you have no say now.. they are HIS! You have problems with some of the things they TEACH! Word of Faith.. shall I give you a list of all the STORMS EARTHQUAKES in the USA and 3rd world nations they HELP and I mean TRUCKLOADS of help. I know for FACT for they called us when Colorado springs had a huge fire. So close we had to leave. We get this phone call.... Copland... 1st thought was.. how did they get my phone number? But all I heard was "what ever you need just ask.. what ever it is we will get it to you". NO ONE else EVER called us or to anyone around us.. that did or didn't lose there house.
I know the stories.. HUGE JETS ...BIG HOMES...yet what you never hear is "that WORD OF FAITH preacher" he was RICH before he was eve saved. And that other? Oh the Church does not give him a DIME for that jet fuel.. he pays out of pocket. Yeah..had his own money. FACT... TV over and over talked about this one and his house.. yet.. again the CHURCH NEVER PAID FOR IT! He did. <---I yet to hear that anywhere on TV WORLDLY NEWS! Shall I go on?

Jesus that only said what GOD told Him to say. Told you NT told you how to act think and talk. These people are your family....and you speak like this then turn around and what..tell JESUS how much you LOVE HIM? How YOUR the real believer? Man I sin more then most. And if I can repent and JESUS STILL loves me..HOLY JESUS man I will love them forgive them pray FOR THEM! There not my kids..this GOD? Made them... ever lose a kid? Some day God will do something no woman man has ever had to do.. say good by forever to something they made! Do you even think about the FATHER and how He feels? He came died for people that HATED HATE Him.. do most unspeakable things and still He loves and wants to forgive.. and you.. cant even love forgive people you SEE..that never sin against you.

One of the things I noticed about most these guys. Their closing moment is not a call for people to come up and be saved. It's for people to give them money.
I am not against people making...no, EARNING money.
I am against people trying to force God into partnering in their multi-level marketing schemes. After I made the original post I started watching these guys and it really sickened me.
And calling someone dumb because they said they give without expecting money back?
I don't mind judging now. There are snakes out there asking for your money for their perversion. Fact.

Yeah, I have a problem only with you lumping everyone together in the "TV Evangelist" group. They are not all one monolithic group of people.
Do you know every single TV evangelist? No.
So do you know know that each one veers into giving? No.
So you are judging people that you have never seen, and have no idea what they preach.
That's a problem.
There are obviously some TV evangelists, that are wolves. They prowl around devouring widows estates. Jim Jones in the 70s was famous for that.
But when you find such crazy people, you mark the crazy people. Not everyone. Jim Jones was crazy. Not everyone was crazy.
There are some crazy preachers on TV. There are also some fantastic preachers that are simply spreading the word of G-d. There are people like Benny Hinn who are nuts, and some like Ravi Zacharias, who are honest men of G-d.
And by the way, there are just as many preachers preaching for money, that are not on TV. I've been to some churches, which were just as crazy as Leroy Jenkins, only not on TV yet.
Don't lump everyone together. Mark the ones that are nuts, and leave the rest alone.

He has his own channel in Australia anyway but surely worldwide. I think they have a "Share a thon" every month as well as loads of stuff they sell.
I'm not into televangelists and certainly not Joel Osteen, Joyce Meyer and the like.
What I would also do is first look at their incomes and lifestyles and ask "is this compatible with Jesus?".
It sure sorts the wheat from the chaff

Nothing in the Bible tells us to go to Church, though. The word "Church" is Greek, coming from the Hebrew "ecclesia" which simply means a gathering of believers. The Apostles and other 1st century believers never heard of a big building with a cross on top where people went to worship on Sundays. In fact, history and the Bible show they met in Synagogues and in others' homes on the Sabbath, not on Sunday.
Whatever you believe the true Sabbath is, again, there is no instruction in the Bible whatsoever to go to a Church, or even to a Synagogue, on that day, though we are told to assemble then.
What else are we told to do on the Sabbath? Not to work, not to cook, not to have our servants or even animals work then. Think of all those waitresses waiting on people after a Sunday service, in restaurants. In Isaiah we are shown that we are not to buy or sell on the Sabbath. How many people go to Church then go out shopping, thinking they have done their Christian duty? How may of those televangekists, or preachers in general, tell people how to really keep the Sabbath?
Now some say the Law has been done away with. Nope. We still are told in the New Testament that disobedience to the law, lawlessness, is sin. Can we now murder, commit adultery and bow down to other gods and expect to get to Heaven?
I don't trust televangelists worth squat and would not give them a penny, though years ago I was fooled by a couple of them. Frankly, some of them are preaching doctrines of demons, too.

None of us can see into their hearts. Bur we can check what they have to say and compare that to the Gospel. We can look at their life styles. Aren't they all extremely rich? Can anyone name one who isn't very rich? Look at their luxury homes and their pricey, tailored, suits, their private planes and so on. Couldn't they be giving their excesses of wealth to help the poor so that they aren't extremely rich anymore? Like that's gonna happen.
I like how someone, above, reminded us that the Scriptures tell us not to give money to the rich.
