Oh, sorry I thought that was all-inclusive. My fault.
I think God has made things so much simpler than we even realize. For me I see it like how as a child(even a grown up child) you long to please your earthly father. Sometimes doing what you think will make him happy, without really listening to what he said actually would.

Oh my, Dear sister, you will have to walk me through with that one. . the simplicity "that is Christ" is directly linked to that foundation of all God's clarity seen in 2 Timothy 3:16.

I wasn’t meaning every single teaching. I’m sorry. Meaning His love. I don’t know. Nothing I can say won’t turned some other way. Was just saying we as humans complicate things. I didn’t mean to come across wrong. I’m sorry

Found this today in a post from 2012. I did not compile all the information. Great post with scripture reference. I didn’t know till about a year ago that the Holy Spirit wasn’t an “it”. What an eye opening time that was!!! Churches I had been in glossed over Him. So I’m still learning a lot. Terrific info to keep at hand to help others learn.

Who is Holy Spirit?

Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? 1 Corinthians 3:16

Holy Spirit is not a force or a thing; He is a Divine Person and the third Person in the Holy Trinity of God. He was present in the beginning and He will be present at the end.

The Beginning:

Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. Genesis 1:2

The Ending:

The Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let him who hears say, “Come!” Whoever is thirsty, let him come; and whoever wishes, let him take the free gift of the water of life. Revelation 22:17

Sent by Christ:

And I will pray the Father, and he will give you another Comforter, that He may abide with you forever. John 14:16

“Another” does not indicate a difference. Jesus is saying that He will send one who is just like Him. The personality and character of Holy Spirit is the same as that which we find in Jesus Himself.

Holy Spirit is described by Jesus as being our “Parakletos” which means He is our Comforter, Standby, Advocate, Intercessor, Teacher, Friend, Guide, Counselor, Strengthener, Leader, Helper, & Partner.

Holy Spirit is a Comforter who feels. John 14:26
Holy Spirit is a Teacher to listen to. Luke 12:12; 1 Corinthians 2:10-14
Holy Spirit has a mind, will and emotions. 1 Corinthians 12:11; Romans 8:27; Eph 4:30Holy Spirit speaks to the local church. Revelation 2:29 & 3:13
Holy Spirit makes us bold. Acts 1:8; 4:7-13; 4:31
Holy Spirit counsels, communes and fellowships with God’s people. 2 Corinthians 13:14
Holy Spirit is the giver of spiritual gifts to the church. 1 Corinthians 12:7-11
Holy Spirit is the Overseer of the church. Acts 20:28
Holy Spirit is the power of God in the earth. Acts 10:38
Holy Spirit is the Great Teacher of the church. John 14:26; 1 John 2:27
Holy Spirit is the author, inspirer, and producer of the Bible. He directed godly men in the writing of the Scriptures. 2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:21
Holy Spirit confirms the gospel of Jesus Christ with miraculous signs and wonders. Mark 16:20; Hebrews 2:4
Holy Spirit is Omnipotent. Luke 1:35
Holy Spirit is Omniscient. 1 Corinthians 2:10-13
Holy Spirit is Omnipresent. Psalm 139:7-10
Holy Spirit is the protector of God’s people, and He lifts up a standard against the devil and attacks aimed at God’s people. Isaiah 59:19
Holy Spirit convicts people of sin, and enables them to see the need for a Savior. John 16:8-9
Holy Spirit produces spiritual growth in our lives. Galatians 5:22-25
Holy Spirit will help you know the Word and the things of God. 1 Corinthians 2:9-14
Holy Spirit is the personal friend of God’s people. Acts 15:28
Holy Spirit is here to exalt and glorify Jesus and will never exalt Himself. John 15:26; 16:14-15
He can be grieved. Ephesians 4:30
He can be insulted. Hebrews 10:29
He can be lied to. Acts 5:3
He can be blasphemed. Matthew 12:31-32
He can be resisted. Acts 7:51
He can be vexed. Isaiah 63:10
He can be quenched. 1 Thessalonians 5:19

The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen. 2 Corinthians 13:14

What is the Communion of the Holy Ghost?: 7 Meanings of “Communion”
1. It means presence – we are to experience the presence of God upon our lives.
2. It means fellowship – this means spending time together.
3. It means sharing together – talking things over; 2 way communication.
4. It means partnership – participation with Holy Spirit. He is your senior partner.
5. It means intimacy – getting close to God.
6. It means friendship – He is your loyal friend, sticking closer than a brother.
7. It means comradeship – in the sense that He rules, directs and governs your life.

The Ministry of Holy Spirit to the Believer:
1. Holy Spirit equips us with power and boldness to be dynamic and to witness for Him. Acts 1:8
2. Holy Spirit edifies our inward man with spiritual strength as we pray in the Spirit. Jude 20
3. Holy Spirit enlightens our spirit with wisdom, guidance, and revelation knowledge. Romans 8:14; 1 John 2:27
4. Holy Spirit energizes our physical bodies with resurrection life to keep us in divine health. Romans 8:11
5. Holy Spirit enables us to pray supernatural prayers according to the will of God. Romans 8:26-27
6. Holy Spirit empowers us with ability to flow in spiritual gifts. 1 Corinthians 12:1-11
7. Holy Spirit endorses the teaching and preaching of God’s Word with miraculous signs following. Mark 16:20

What is Spirit Baptism?

And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. Acts 2:4

Salvation is God’s gift to the sinner. The baptism in the Holy Spirit is God’s gift to His children.

Prophetic Promises for the last days: (Joel 2:28-32; Acts 2:17-19; Zechariah 10:1; Hosea 6:3)

Joel 2: 28 “And afterward,
I will pour out my Spirit on all people.
Your sons and daughters will prophesy,
your old men will dream dreams,
your young men will see visions.
29 Even on my servants, both men and women,
I will pour out my Spirit in those days.
30 I will show wonders in the heavens
and on the earth,
blood and fire and billows of smoke.
31 The sun will be turned to darkness
and the moon to blood
before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD.
32 And everyone who calls
on the name of the LORD will be saved;
for on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem
there will be deliverance,
as the LORD has said,
even among the survivors
whom the LORD calls

Zechariah 10:1 Ask the LORD for rain in the springtime;
it is the LORD who sends the thunderstorms.
He gives showers of rain to all people,
and plants of the field to everyone.

Hosea 6: 3 Let us acknowledge the LORD;
let us press on to acknowledge him.
As surely as the sun rises,
he will appear;
he will come to us like the winter rains,
like the spring rains that water the earth. ”

The anointing of God will greatly increase.
The Spirit of God will be poured out upon all flesh (all nations, peoples, denominations, etc.)
The gifts of God’s Spirit will be in greater manifestation. Signs, Wonders & Miracles will increase.
The people of God will receive visions and dreams.
Prophetic ministry and the gift of prophecy will be increased.
The Five-fold ministry will be given a greater anointing.

*The baptism in the Holy Spirit is a supernatural equipping with power from Heaven to empower the Christian for effective witness and service.

But you shall receive power – ability, efficiency and might – when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses in Jerusalem and all Judea and Samaria and to the ends – the very bounds – of the earth. Acts 1:8 (Amplified)

“Power” = “Dunamis” – the word from which we get our English word “dynamite” and “dynamic”.
i.) Power in action in performing miracles for God.
ii.) Divine ability; mighty works; miracle-energy; supernatural force.

“Witness” = “Martus” – the word from which we get our English word “martyr”.
i.) To give or be evidence; one who furnishes proof.
ii.) One who demonstrates, substantiates, or verifies his testimony with an exhibition of evidence.

“One miracle from heaven is worth one thousand sermons” (E.W. Kenyon).

Through the baptism in the Holy Spirit we receive God’s power
• To heal the sick;
• To cast out demons;
• To do supernatural miracles;
• To witness and win the lost;
• To boldly preach the gospel;
• To flow in the gifts of God’s Spirit.

BIBLE FACTS ABOUT THE BAPTISM IN THE HOLY SPIRIT:
1. The baptism in the Holy Spirit is a separate and subsequent experience following salvation (Acts 8:12-17).
2. The baptism in the Holy Spirit is a free gift available for every Christian and is received by faith (Luke 11:13; Acts 2:38-39).
3. The Lord Jesus Christ is the baptizer in the Holy Spirit (Matthew 3:11).
4. Jesus promised all believers rivers of living water – the Bible experience of being baptized in the Holy Spirit (John 7:38).
5. Receiving the baptism in the Holy Spirit is accompanied by the believer speaking in tongues (Acts 2:4; Acts 10:44-46; Acts 19:6).
a. Acts 2:4 – 120 on the Day of Pentecost received the baptism and spoke in tongues.
b. Acts 8:12-19 – the believers in Samaria received the baptism and spoke in tongues.
c. Acts 9:17 – Paul received the baptism and spoke in tongues (1 Cor. 14:18).
d. Acts 10:44-46 – Cornelius and the gentiles received the baptism and spoke in tongues. This was approximately 10 years after Pentecost.
e. Acts 19:1-6 – The believers in Ephesus received the baptism and spoke in tongues when Paul laid hands on them. This was approximately 20 years after Pentecost.
6. The baptism in the Holy Spirit enables the Christian to build up his/her spiritual life by direct communication with God (Jude 20).
7. God’s power is available for every believer who is hungry and thirsty (Matthew 5:6).

SEVEN BIBLICAL BENEFITS OF SPEAKING IN TONGUES:
1. Speaking in tongues is a supernatural means of direct communication with God. 1 Corinthians 14:2
2. Speaking in tongues enables us to intercede effectively for ourselves and for others, according to the will of God. Romans 8:26-27
3. Speaking in tongues gives us the ability to worship the Lord in an unlimited way. 1 Corinthians 14:15-17; John 4:24; Acts 10:46
4. Speaking in tongues is a supernatural means of edifying and building up ourselves spiritually – it keeps our spirit strong in God. 1 Corinthians 14:4; Jude 20
5. Speaking in tongues helps us to effectively resist temptation and overcome the flesh. Galatians 5:16; Galatians 5:25
6. Speaking in tongues brings about spiritual refreshing, renewal, and rest for the weary. Isaiah 28:11-12
7. Speaking in tongues causes the gifts, power, and anointing of God to be released in your life. John 7:38; 1 Corinthians 12:1-11

“Experience has proven that the more you speak with tongues then the more manifestations of the gifts of the Spirit will operate through you, and the less you speak in tongues, the less the gifts operate” (Kenneth Hagin).

THREE LEVELS OF SPEAKING IN TONGUES:
1. The initial Biblical evidence of receiving the baptism in the Holy Spirit. Acts 2:4
2. Your personal prayer language, which is speaking in tongues for spiritual edification and direct communication with God. Your personal prayer language for private devotion and prayer time with God. 1 Corinthians 14:2-4
3. The congregational gift of tongues, which is when a message is spoken in tongues and then accompanied by the interpretation in English for a public assembly or meeting to edify the church. 1 Corinthians 14:26-27
This is so good, I am going to have to read it all again!

I am looking at some churches in my area, praying about them and trying to see where I’m lead. Once is an Assembly of God, the other Foursquare Gospel.

I do not feel I’ve been baptized in the Spirit. I think there was too much habitual sin. I think I needed somethings in my heart worked on. And most of my years knowing the Lord, I didn’t even know that was possible. Was very closed off.

You're on a roll! That's obeying our God! The main things (from what I've read) on receiving His Spirit is hard repenting, and making sure we forgive. I thought I was done with the latter but it could be my stumbling block. I pray every day to forgive those that hurt me, and I ask everyday for the baptism too.
Be sure to post back here when you get the Baptism, I would love to hear it. God Bless! ;)

I have people I’m working on forgiving and numerous other things. I ask daily for Him to show me those negative things deep in me. I know they are there and He is really working. It’s amazing!!!
If you ever want to talk, feel free to message.

Spiritual gifts are all given by one and the selfsame Spirit, in distributing to each person just as her will dictates.

It's the Spirit alone that deals with each individual. It's her choice which determines the gifts. There can be no idea of merit on the receiver's part. The Spirit's measure is her will and counsel.

The Bible always refers to the Holy Spirit as He. He is always willing to transform our lives by His love and power.'Come,Holy Spirit,we need Thee. Come sweet Spirit,we pray. Come in Thy strength and Thy power. Come in Thine own special way!' (Chorus)

Sorry, I meant the Korean to English translators, not the biblical kind :)
