if I were to say i I've kept the 10 commandments it doesn't just mean I memorised them

If I paid attention to the prophets - it doesn't just mean i found their writings interesting.

Deuteronomy 4:13
And he declared to you his (first) covenant, which he commanded you to perform, that is, the Ten Commandments, and he wrote them on two tablets of stone.

2 Corinthians 3:3
And you show that you are a letter from Christ delivered by us, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts. (The better covenant)

Hebrews 8:6-13

Yes I know we are in a new covenant - but why the call to obey what is written in the book of Revelation?
