At the sound of the trumpets, the message will get to the people of God and they will gather from the four corners of earth into the truth. In Revelation 11:8, the “Two Witnesses” are “caught up” and taken up to God as “the seventh angel” in heaven sounds the trumpet/shofar! 'On the first day of the seventh month you are to have a day of rest, a sacred assembly commemorated with trumpet blasts.'

The Feast of Trumpets is about remembrances, a memorial, but the Bible does not tell us what we are supposed to remember! The symbolism of this festival is something of a mystery, a sort of Bible riddle begging to be solved. The Bible grants us only two sparse verses to explain the festival.

Leviticus 23:23, 24. In the seventh month, on first day of the month, it will be for you a Sabbath, a trumpet blast memorial, a sacred assembly. All regular work you shall not do, and you shall cause to be brought near to the LORD an offering made by fire.

The place of His sanctuary, which is our minds, is being be cast down, polluted and need serious cleansing. Good thing that Yeshua cleansed the temple at the start of His ministry and then again at the end of His earthly ministry for us. During the Feast of Trumpets come all the last warnings that this world will receive before the plagues fall. 285 In Yeshua‘s ministry you will find there the promise that He will cleanse His temple twice. At the start when you first gave your heart to Yeshua and received the baptism of the Holy Spirit which is the first cleansing. So your first cleansing of your temple by Yeshua through the Holy Spirit starts your journey with Him. At the end, with what is called the latter rain there will be a greater baptism called the Baptism of Fire.

Here is an excerpt from an article I wrote about the Day of Trumpets/Yom Teruah.

Leviticus 23:23-25 says;

“And Yahweh spoke unto Moses, saying, ‘Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, In the seventh month, in the first day of the month, shall you have a sabbath, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, an holy convocation. You shall do no servile work therein: but you shall offer an offering made by fire unto Yahweh.’ “
The phrase “blowing of trumpets” comes from one Hebrew word, “teruah,” thus, “Yom Teruah”. Strong’s Concordance gives the following definition for teruah, #8643; “clamor, ie. acclamation of joy or a battle cry; espec. clangor of trumpets, as an alarm.”
Since there isn’t enough information in that passage to determine the prophetic fulfillment, we need to dig deeper by seeing how “teruah” was used in other verses.

Numbers 10:2 – “Make thee two trumpets of silver; of a whole piece shall you make them: that you may use them for the calling of the assembly, and for the journeying of the camps.”
Numbers 10:5 – “When you blow an alarm [teruah], then the camps that lie on the east parts shall go forward.”
Numbers 10:6 – “When you blow an alarm [teruah] the second time, then the camps that lie on the south side shall take their journey: they shall blow an alarm for their journeys.”
Numbers 10:9 – “And if you go to war in your land against the enemy that oppresses you, then you shall blow an alarm [rua] with the trumpets; and you shall be remembered before Yahweh your Elohim, and you shall be saved from your enemies.”
Numbers 10:10 – “Also in the day of your gladness, and in your solemn days, and in the beginnings
of your months, you shall blow with the trumpets over your burnt offerings, and over the sacrifices of your peace offerings; that they may be to you for a memorial before your Elohim: I am Yahweh your Elohim.”
The word “alarm” in verses 5 & 6 is “teruah” and the word “alarm” in verse 9 is “rua,” #7321, which is a root of “teruah” and means, “to mar (especially by breaking) fig. to split the ears (with sound), ie. shout (for alarm or joy).”

By these verses we can see that “teruah” is associated with alerting Israel of impending danger or war. It is an alarm sounded by blowing the two silver trumpets.

Notice, in verse 9, that when the trumpets are blown, Yahweh will “remember” Israel and save them from their enemies. I believe this is why the word “memorial” is used in Leviticus 23:24. Unlike the Sabbath or Passover which are memorials of creation and the exodus, the Day of Trumpets is not a memorial of some past event for us to remember. It is a memorial for Yahweh to remember His people when the alarm is sounded. Verse 10 suggests the same idea concerning the trumpets being a memorial for Yahweh.

The reason for this thread is for studying the trumpets which are important because
1. It is a new year, a new event, a new understanding, a new message, and a new beginning.
2. Revelation talks about the seven trumpets as events that are to shake people of this world up and try getting them to see differently enough to understand the need to repent.
3. The Feast of Trumpets is designed for a purpose...preparing the people for the Day of Atonement.
