I did not feel you were being argumentative brother. It is good to ask questions and to challenge what we believe to make sure we are following God's WORD or not. Sabbath, as observed according to the day originally set forth by God in the Old Testament will be on Thursday this week. That's if we go by the original lunar calendar upon which that schedule is based. If, instead, we choose to honor it on some other arbitrary day, then Sunday is no worse than Saturday, as both fall off from the original schedule. Saying that Sunday is the first day and Saturday is the seventh is really just an arbitrary distinction. I could just as easily call Sunday the seventh day and Saturday the sixth. Both are the seventh day, because both happen every seventh day.

However, if we're going to pull our hair out over whether it's the same day of the week that God originally established as Sabbath, then both fall short. That's just a historical fact.

Hello brother nonaeroterraqueous, nice to meet you and thanks for sharing your thoughts. I think you are getting the shadow laws from the new moons and feast days from the MOSAIC BOOK of the law *DEUTERONOMY 31:24-26; EXODUS 24:7 confused with God's ETERNAL LAW (10 commandments) *EXODUS 20:1-17 that gives us a knowledge of what SIN is when broken *ROMANS 3:20. God's SEVENTH DAY weekly SABBATH of the 4th commandment *EXODUS 20:8-11 is on a continous weekly cycle and is not governed by the full moon and is every SEVENTH DAY of the week from Friday sunset to Saturday Sunset our time.

The Lord's day, seems to be an issue with some but in my view the claims to Sunday being the Lord's day is not biblical. It is simply a false teaching handed down to Christianity from the Roman Catholic church.

I for one will enjoy watching all the Orthodox Jews attend synagogue this Thursday and call it "Sabbath"

It could be a figure of speech. It could be a one time event, in other words the day that the Master came to John. It could be a thousand year day. It's really not clear from one cryptic reference.

It seems that people who twist scripture take advantage of these cryptic, one off, expressions.

For me I believe MATTHEW 12:8 defines the Lords day as the Sabbath day. There is no scripture reference to anything else in REVELATION 1:9 that I can see. Defineately not Sunday or the first day of the week as some have alluded to.

“If because of THE Sabbath, you turn your foot
From doing your own pleasure on My holy day,
And call THE Sabbath a delight, THE Holy Day of the LORD (YHWH) honorable,

Surely that has to count among the texts that specify which day is "The Lord's day" -

God's WORD says that the SABBATH DAY IS THE LORD'S DAY!

There is NO scripture that says Sunday or the FIRST DAY of the week is the Lords Day. God's Word says the Lord's day is the Sabbath day. This is the day God rested on, he set apart and made a Holy day at the completion of the creation week and made a memorial for all mankind (Genesis 2:1-3; Exodus 20:8-11). Jesus is the God of creation and he is the Lord of the Sabbath day (Matthew 12:8; Mark 2:27-28)

Now friend's the SABBATH is the 4th Commandment of God's 10 Commandments and there is not one scripture in ALL of God's WORD that says that God's 4th Commandment has been ABOLISHED and we are now commanded to keep SUNDAY as a HOLY DAY. The same as there is not one scripture in ALL of God's WORD that says that SUNDAY is the LORD'S DAY.

John in the book of REVELATIONS 1:10 was in the SPIRIT on the SABBATH DAY not SUNDAY!

God's WORD is very clear. If we follow the teachings and traditions of men that break the commandments of God then we are not following God...

[4], For God commanded, saying, Honor your father and mother: and, He that curses father or mother, let him die the death.
[5], But you say, Whoever shall say to his father or his mother, It is a gift, by whatever you might be profited by me;
[6], And honor not his father or his mother, he shall be free. Thus have you made the commandment of God of none effect by your tradition.
[7], You hypocrites, well did Esaias prophesy of you, saying,
[8], This people draws near to me with their mouth, and honors me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.
[9], But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.

Who do we believe and follow? The teachings and traditions of men or the WORD of God? Only God's WORD is true and we should BELIEVE and FOLLOW it over the teachings and traditions of men that break the commandments of God.

SIN is breaking any of God's 10 Commandments (Romans 7:7; Romans 3:20; James 2:11; 1 John 3:4) Those who CONTINUE in KNOWN UNREPENTANT SIN will NOT ENTER the KINGDOM of HEAVEN.

God's 4th commandment is one of the ten (Exodus 20:8-11) If we knowingly break it when God asks us not to we stand guilty before God of committing sin (James 2:8-12). If we do not seek him in repentance and forgiveness we are in danger of the Judgement (Hebrews 10:26-27)

Sunday worship is a tradition and teaching of man that has led many to break the commandments of God. Jesus says that if we follow the traditions of man that break the commandments of God we are not following God (Matthew 15:3-9)

There is not one scripture in all of God's Word that says that God's 4th Commandment is now ABOLISHED and we are now commanded to keep Sunday as a Holy day.

In times of ignorance God winks at but when as knowledge of the truth has come God calls on all men everywhere to repent and believe his Word (Acts 17:30-31)

God's is calling his people to come out from following the traditions of men to worship him in Spirit and in truth.

God knows many follow these traditions from ignorance because they do not know any better. He loves all and is calling all who have ears to hear and eyes to see. Seek him in prayer asking for his Spirit to guide and teach you. He promises to be your guide and teacher. (John 14:26; 16:13: 7:17)

Those who push Sabbath observance on Christians and denigrate the Lord's day are not capable of rational and open dialogue on this topic. The Lord's day was primarily the day that Christians received the Eucharist on and had no real connection to the law or Judaism and that was on purpose.

Yahshua rebuked the traditions of men. I don't subscribe to dogma. I'll just stick with scripture.

Acts 20:7. And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight.

The first day of the week came to be known as the Lord's Day from the beginning,
as it was the day of the Resurrection.
Mark 16:9. Now when Jesus was risen early the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had cast seven devils.
Luke 24:1. Now upon the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came unto the sepulchre, bringing the spices which they had prepared, and certain others with them.
John 20:1. The first day of the week cometh Mary Magdalene early, when it was yet dark, unto the sepulchre, and seeth the stone taken away from the sepulchre.

The collection for the saints at Jerusalem was collected on the first day of the week, when all the congregation was assembled.
1 Corinthians 16:2. Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store,
as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come.

There is only limited information on the earliest traditions of the church in the scriptures, which isn't surprising. There are plenty of early church writings long before there was a Roman Catholic religion.
Maybe you can find some support for the churches keeping Sabbath there. Or a Lord's Day. Peace.

Here is another one;
Matthew 28:1. In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre.
A day ended at sundown right? So dawn?
CLV 1 Now it is the evening of the sabbaths. At the lighting up into one of the sabbaths came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to behold the sepulcher.
This translation doesn't make this much clearer for me.
