In relation to Deuteronomy 29:29, “The secret things belong to the LORD our God, but those things which are revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law,"

What are those things revealed that belong to us and our children?

How does one know God's personal will for their life vs His general will?

We get to know God's general will by reading Scripture. We can only know God's "personal will" for our lives (as you call it) in retrospect. We discover it as the events of our lives unfold. We cannot know in advance specifically what God wills to do in our lives.

I agree with Tree of Life. There's certain things God has revealed in His word and certain things only revealed as in His spirit. Not that His word and His spirit are separate, but scriptures aren't always explicit about things or specific people. It requires the experience of living your beliefs, then what's implicit will be revealed. This is true of the Church as a whole or personally to each. Best any believer can do is to seek the Lord for everything using both discernment and discretion.
