Matthew 7:21-23
“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord’,
shall enter the kingdom of heaven,
but he who
does the will of My Father in heaven
… And
then I will declare to them,
‘I never KNEW you;
depart from Me,
you who practice lawlessness!’ ”

Luke 13:27
“But He will say, ‘I tell you I do not KNOW you, where you are from. Depart from Me,
all you workers of iniquity.’ There will be
weeping and gnashing of teeth …”

John 10:14-15
“I am the Good Shepherd; and I KNOW My sheep, and am KNOWN by My own. As the Father KNOWS Me, even so I KNOW the Father."

John 10:27-28
“My sheep hear My voice, and I KNOW them,
and they follow Me. And I give them eternal life,
and they shall never perish …”

John 17:3
“And this is eternal life, that they may KNOW You,
the only true God, and Jesus Christ
whom You have sent.”

1 John 2:3-4
“Now by this we know that we KNOW Him,
if we keep His commandments.
He who says, “I KNOW Him”,
and does not keep His commandments,
is a liar, and the truth is not in him."

1 Corinthians 8:3
“But if anyone loves God,
this one is
KNOWN by Him.”

2 Timothy 2:19
“The Lord
KNOWS those who are His.”

“The Biblical concept of knowing God extends beyond mere intellectual apprehension and moves into the arena of obedience. To have genuine knowledge, one must respond to God who has graciously made himself known. This is thoroughly in keeping with the Old Testament idea
On the one hand, former ignorance was to some extent excusable; now obedience is expected. On the other hand, simply knowing is inadequate, for God has disclosed himself adequately
Obedience is demanded in either circumstance. Knowing God, therefore, is more than theoretical
or intellectual knowledge
Apart from knowing God we are known by God. Being known by God is tantamount to experiencing his grace, and it depends, in part at least, upon our response
to his grace. Certainly, it involves our will
The letter of 1 John shows a marked interest in the theme of ‘knowing God” (25 times). Knowing God chiefly means obeying God’s commands and imitating Jesus. Obedience equals knowing God, and it is strikingly made evident in the demonstration of love for one another – just as Jesus loved
True knowledge expresses itself in obedience, especially in love. One cannot have a true knowledge
of God without being obedient to Him
to know God truly we must have experienced Him.
A person is to go beyond a merely intellectual appreciation for God; the effects of that experience
must be evident in one’s life.”

ginosko (********, 1097) ... (Greek alphabet n/a here)
"… frequently implies an active relation between the
one who “knows” and the person or thing “known”
… in Matthew 7:23, “I never knew you” suggests
“I have never been in approving connection with you”.

I have available a full page of NT verses which
prove that obedience is necessary for salvation!
Would anyone care to see these verses? … Answer: NO

Ok, so I already understand that to "know" can mean to become one flesh with someone. So, knowing can indeed be very intimate. But to "know" can also mean to have information, though there is no intimacy involved.

And the Bible says,

"But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him." (1 Corinthians 6:17)

So, this would mean someone knows Jesus, by being one with Him, deeper than only in physical intimacy of marriage.

And this is what becomes of any person who trusts in Jesus for salvation. Each of us has been joined to Jesus so every one of us is "one spirit with Him."

And what happens if we are in spiritual union with the Holy Spirit who is almighty? How God is will win out over how we are . . . in our nature. Our character changes to be more and more like Jesus in us >

"My little children, for whom I labor in birth again until Christ is formed in you,"
(Galatians 4:19)

And by becoming like Jesus in us, He in us shares with us how He is submissive to our Father and how Jesus is so pleasing to our Heavenly Father. This is what is involved in Biblical correction and obedience > how we become like Jesus and therefore are more and more naturally submissive to our Father, all the time . . . as much as we have grown in this.

So, Biblical obedience, then, is not "necessary" or "required", but included as a guaranteed result of becoming "one spirit with Him" so we are so sharing with Jesus in us and with one another.

This is guaranteed as part of our salvation > for us who
"first trusted in Christ" (Ephesians 1:12) >

Each of us has been
"joined to the Lord" so each is "one spirit with Him."

God's word will do all He means, in us > Isaiah 55:11.

Every child of God has God correcting us so we become more and more like Jesus and therefore more and more pleasing to our Father and submissive to Him, like Jesus in us who is growing in us > Hebrews 12:4-14.

So, we keep trusting You to keep on succeeding in us, like this.

Obeying God includes personally seeking and submitting to how our Heavenly Father rules us with His own peace in our hearts >

"And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful." (Colossians 3:15)

This is included in basic Biblical obedience. We all are
"called in one body" to this.

And there are Bible basics of how to relate in love as God's family >

"with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love," (Ephesians 4:2)

"Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you." (Ephesians 4:31-32)

So, God knows we need
"longsuffering" with His children; He knows how we can be wrong, at times; even if we are mature Christians, still we need to be "forgiving one another" . . . "even as God", our Apostle Paul does say :)

So, yes we need to be like Jesus who never gave up on any of His disciples. And Jesus on the cross so suffered and died with hope for any and all people > love
"hopes all things" (in 1 Corinthians 13:7). Therefore we do well to keep praying with hope for every person, knowing this is about how God is able.
