It probably will. But I wonder also what it will do to all those who pinned their hopes on Mueller finding evidence of collusion.

According to msn.com Beto O'Rourke is still pounding the collusion drum as late as yesterday.

Their objective remains unchanged. When it comes to needing any grounds for impeachment, they have simply switched from "Russian Collusion" to "Just Because," that's all.

Agreed.
Barr explains in the letter that Mueller’s investigation into obstruction of justice found the President’s actions were not “done with corrupt intent.”

“In cataloguing the President’s actions, many of which took place in public view, the report identifies no actions that, in our judgment, constitute obstructive conduct, had a nexus to a pending or contemplated proceeding, and were done with corrupt intent, each of which, under the Department’s principles of federal prosecution guiding charging decisions, would need to be proven beyond a reasonable doubt to establish an obstruction-of-justice offense.” https://www.cnn.com/politics/live-news/robert-mueller-report-summary/index.html

Didn't the top Democrat in the country just say like a week ago they will not be going after an impeachment?

She said she wanted to wait for the results of the Mueller investigation to see if there was anything to try to impeach the president for. Many dems didn't like that, but it's looking to have been the right decision.

I don’t see Trump being impeached, especially now. Having Trump impeached and Pence taking his place isn’t optimal for Democrats... Pence is harder to beat in an election and it would leave him open to having 10 years in office.

I see this as a “wait out the clock” scenario and him being charged with a ton of things after he leaves office. I think/hope jail is his eventual destination.

I was skeptical about Pelosi as the Speaker but since then, I've come to really appreciate the counterbalance of logic and restraint that she brings to the House.

For the record, she's been speaking out against impeachment since last summer, before the midterm elections.

Trump might get a little boost in his popularity in the short term but he seems more interested in golf then governance. His wall is stuck in the mire of of political and legal intrigue so his base will get increasingly disgruntled. I've noticed the news cycles are getting quieter so that will probably do more for him then anything else.

Well yeah, what could he even be impeached for? "Just because" and "don't like him" aren't grounds for it, and that's all they've got.

Finances and the emolument clause of the constitution. Trumps failure to divest himself of his financial interests leaves him wide open to impeachment.

Anybody seen his tax returns? When ‘crooked’ Hillary can release hers, and your candidate refuses to and deliberately lies about it....

I really wouldn't be surprised if he's waiting until right before the elections. Nothing out of order, perfectly legit, letting the media and Democrats run with "what's he hiding, he's so corrupt" so he can release them and say, see, they lied about collusion, they lied about my taxes, they are the enemy of the people and I'm your guy.

When your candidate describes his opponents as ‘enemies of the people’ you are on the wrong side.

He made a promise to release his tax returns before the last election, he demonstrably lied. There is good reason he is seen as corrupt.

Well, his numerous conflict of interests in his business holdings and his financial gain through selling merchandise that is disallowed are two offenses that could lead to impeachment, off the top of my head.

However, that all being said, legal analysts agree that technically you could find impeachable offenses on most, if not all, modern Presidents. Impeachment, however, is only done in an “in case of emergency, break the glass.” Meaning, it’s not hard to find reasons to impeach a president, but because of the disarray it causes and how the fallout of such an action has a profound negative impact on all aspects of America and Americans, it’s not something that we do outside of something urgent and destructive. Profiting off the presidency and conflict of financial interests is something that seems like it can wait to be prosecuted until he’s out-of-office.

He is about 3 years too late to release his taxes and get a “see I wasn’t hiding anything” pass.

I don't see why it would.

Those who love Donald will love him more, those who don't aren't about to change their minds.

It's a gender-flipped Benghazi; why would it be anything else?
