Funny in an odd way. I'll tell you a story that I kinda take lightly. I had a vision once that had a cobra god in it. There were these camps with middle eastern-like tents, and it was the end times. Jesus had established a camp and so did Lucifer. It was about being free to choose Jesus' camp or Lucifers. If you chose Lucifers the cobra god-like being would attack you. But the cobra was like a transformer and quantum mechanical.

But seriously, do you feel they might be hallucinations? I suffer from schizophrenia and hallucinate spider attacks like they are coming from evil spirits.

Any spirit from the other side of the fence is gotten rid of the same way as the rest, by the blood of Christ, the power in the name of Jesus . But you must be born again or it will just say "Jesus I know and Paul I know but who are you" ?

I was in TM which caused this "dark spirit" to dwell in me for a short while. I simply accepted Jesus Christ of Nazareth as my Lord and Savior and poof! It was gone. Have you given your life to Christ? If you have, then the dark spirit is not in you.

That's... not necessarily true.

I'm usually as skeptical about these stories as anybody else. But what you wrote is simply not true.

It is true. Sorry we have different doctrinal beliefs. If you are speaking of spiritual warfare, this is not the same thing. This is an actual evil spirit that dwells in some non-believers who have involved themselves in occult practices. A born again Christian can not be overtaken by this spirit. It can be easily rebuked. I am proof.

Seems like a reasonable request, given the situation...

In order for this spirit or any spirit other than the Holy Spirit to get involved in a born again believers life is if we embrace the practices of the spirit. Then it can get a foothold. The only other way would be if God allowed this because we needed the information as part of our walk perhaps later in life. Either way it can and must be rebuked in the name of Jesus. You pass God's test ( the book of Job comes to mind). The born again believer certainly can get an attaching spirit that will eventually turn your walk upside down. We have to be careful and protect ourselves by the blood of Christ. A born again believer can not be possessed by a spirit but oppression is common, two spirits can't dwell in you when one is the Holy Spirit but if you are truly born again it's as if you have a mark on your back, you will have attacks.

If someone is possessed they were never born again. In fact the possession needs to be driven out before they could receive the Holy Spirit of God. Accounts in scripture speak of this where a demon was driven out but the space was left swept clean ( no filling by the Holy Spirit) and the demon returned with multiple buddies leaving the person worse off than before. Had they received the Holy Spirit the demon could not have returned. I think this account is found in Luke 11:11-26.

Just out of curiosity, why make fun of this post? Are you saying that a dark spirit does not exist? Evil can take many forms. For example, Hinduism is such a form that believes in a "coiled snake" that is unleashed at the base of the spine known as chakras. A mongoose will not be able to help.

Probably.

That's not to say that I think that demon possession is ridiculous. I just think it's ridiculous that we could specifically identify, classify, or catalogue demons like we do for species of feline.

I'm actually not making as much fun as it might seem I am - my suggestion was more metaphorical; if the poster feels that she is dealing with (something) she describes as a spiritual cobra, asking God to send her something that likes to kill cobras and does a good job of it (a metaphorical mongoose) might not be such a bad idea. I don't really understand the situation, but it's what I would do. If it seems a child-like solution, it is based on a child-like faith, which (I think someone once said) was good to have.
