Where the rich man is wicked and the poor man is rich in spirit?

Why can't it be the opposite.

Only the rich are righteous and the poor are wicked. God let it the opposite though.
1) Not all rich men are wicked, and not all poor men are rich in spirit. Rather, Jesus reminded us that there is grace for the poor as well, even if they have nothing, they can still have God.
2) I'm not seeing the appeal of all the rich people being righteous and all the poor people being unrighteous. If that were the case, the rich would have a legitimate reason to persecute the poor, because that would literally be justice. The closest society I know of that had something similar is India's, with its caste system and how horribly the Untouchables are treated. They are the poorest of the poor, and have historically been denied the most basic of opportunities for bettering themselves and were/are seen as deserving of it all.
3) I'm not sure what the measure of righteousness would be in either awarding or taking away wealth. I don't know if I would gain or lose money if such a system were to be put in place. There's a good chance that everybody would be poor if it were to be consistently applied, and I don't want more poverty, I want less.

It will be the opposite matthew 5. But i think it false, there are many poor in spirit and material, and many rich in both.

If you don't like your world, take the few things that you like, place them in an ark, and wash the rest of it away. Then you can try again to make it, anew, just the way you would like it...

As I have gotten older, and seeing the scandals that have come out about celebrities, having a lot of money and material possessions will not solve anyone issues. If anything it creates more issues. When you really look at it, if you can't take money with you when you die, how much value does it really have? You have to really look at it this way, having money does not mean a person is happy, or has peace, or has no issues at all. Money can help financially, but it really does not mean much in terms of living a successful life, because now a days people earn money for the wrong things. O have learned to be content with where I am in life, and allow God to lead me where he would have me. The bible says 9 For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich. Jesus left heaven and died for our sins so that we could inherit the kingdom of heaven. That should tell you how much riches really mean hear on earth.

I think you are confusing spiritual riches with physical wealth.

Rev 3:17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:
Rev 3:18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.
Rev 3:19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.

Luk 18:21 And he said, All these have I kept from my youth up.

Luk 18:22 Now when Jesus heard these things, he said unto him, Yet lackest thou one thing: sell all that thou hast, and distribute unto the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me.

Mat 13:45 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls:
Mat 13:46 Who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it.

Luk 6:44 For every tree is known by his own fruit. For of thorns men do not gather figs, nor of a bramble bush gather they grapes.
Luk 6:45 A good man out of the
good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.

Riches in Scripture, has nothing to do with physical riches. Riches are the word of God....The true word of God, not the deep things of Satan.

Man's first sin in the Garden of Eden is greed. They wanted something more...

Worldly riches is the reflection of greed. God did not created us to be this way but by free will we chose to be greedy.

Worldly wealth, collectively, is made by taking from the weak and that is evil. That land you bought used to be free until invaded by the strong and the blood of the innocents shed. The diamond you bought used slave / child labor. Profit margins made by exploiting the poor for cheap labor and many more examples.

This is why if you love money, you hate God, nothing in between - Luke 16:13. If you didn't know these things, it's no excuse - Hosea 4:6. Much evil has been committed for lack of knowledge / ignorance of the Truth.

God loves the poor, children, the broken-hearted, the poor in spirit(meek), the burdened, the humble, and the otherwise weak and vulnerable, because they are the ones that most rely on, and are most thankful for, His love and mercy.

"But you have dishonored the poor. Are not the rich the ones who oppress you, and the ones who drag you into court?" James 2:6

Wise words. 'Where your treasure is, there also will be your heart.' I don't think it's pure accidental, certainly not fecklessness, that the poor are poor and tend to remain so. In most cases, I believe, unbeknownst to themselves even, their heart, their focus, tends not be on material possessions and personal status.

They think it is, as they buy a lottery ticket or bet on horses, but if it were, they would, instead, follow the example of the middle class and adopt a policy of 'deferred pleasure', saving their money to make more.

They are more 'people' people. Notice how when they are moved from high-rise flats they miss the proximity of their neighbours enormously ; likewise when they win a large sum of money.

On the other hand, the more worldy-wise and less firmly spiritually anchored tend to covet a detached house away from neighbours. I'm not saying they (and I) are wrong to do so, just that it is indicative of an innately-subordinate, spiritual status. Hence the Beatitudes.
