No I believe Christians are also punished for their sins. Please state to me in the Bible where it says we are free from sin consequences? This Grace only Theology is only half of the message. We are called to live sin free and free because Jesus set us apart for himself but we must work together to remove sins shackles and not be bound to anything in this world. Any other way to preach the gospel is to leave a door open to antinomialist beliefs. I believe in freewill and I believe in Gods Grace and they work together much like the Eastern Orthodox Church has viewed it we must abide therein.
That we are justified by grace through faith is the clear Gospel message.
1. No one can keep the Law. No one is righteous before God.
Acts 15:10, Romans 3:9-20, Isaiah 64:6
2. Only Christ can and did keep the Law. The Law and the Prophets are about our Lord Jesus Christ and He fulfilled them.
Matthew 5:17-20, Galatians 4:4-5, Galatians 4:4-5
3. We uphold the Law.
Romans 3:31, James 2:14-26, 1 peter 1:15-16
4. Salvation is a free gift from God.
Romans, Galatians, Ephesians
5. God sustains us. We don't sustain ourselves. We cannot finish by our works what God has completed by the person and works of Christ. Good works are a result of the Holy Spirit in us - namely, to believe, trust, fear and love God, and love our neighbour.
Isaiah 41:10, Galatians 3, Galatians 5:22-23
In conclusion: We are to watch our lives and doctrine closely (1 Timothy 4), but salvation, from beginning to end, is by God's grace, and there is no condemnation for those who believe (Romans 8). As it's written:
"For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them."
And again:
"So you also, when you have done all that you were commanded, say, ‘We are unworthy servants; we have only done what was our duty."
