You know what's best for you.

Don't let others dictate your life to you.

Unfortunately, I let that happen this year, and now I am studying something I am struggling to even understand.

I am asking myself what am I studying? How am I going to be successful when I cannot understand the field I am even studying?

I did great in high school, and had even the option to skip a year. I really wanted to graduate early but I knew once I did my mom would of been on top of me and wouldn't give me time to decide on what to do on the next stage of my life.

They want me to make the decision instantly, I don't get time to think and plan things out. It's always has to be an instant decision which I know from experience ends up in a disaster.

So my options the moment I graduated immediately get a job, immediately go to college, or immediately enlist in the military.

I don't have everything figured out, and I need time to do so.

I try having an intelligent conversation with them and they are unable to have one with me.

My parents didn't go to college, and had a very low quality of education (They are both immigrants). At age 16 my intelligence and education has surpassed that of my parents.
I think it’s normal and reasonable to expect a high school graduate to get a job. Many of us were working during high school, and you can’t expect your parents to support you once you are old enough to work. I think you should take your time about deciding on school, but having a job and paying bills is just a fact of life. It’s not a long term commitment, you can always change jobs or quit to go to school. Also, if your parents are offering you the luxury of supporting you while you go to college, (so that you wouldn’t have to work and go to college at the same time) you are very fortunate.

But they are only giving me 1 chance, once I pick my major they won't let me change it. So I have to decide soon.
Good news: you are an adult and can change your major without your parents permission.

Doesn’t an education assure the best opportunities?

Whether it be a college degree or certificate in a trade?

Everyone told me yes. So that statement contradicts.
Anecdotal evidence is the least reliable kind there is.

Or at least that's what everybody says.

Finance. I had no other choice.

And I don't know where this is going to lead.

I don’t know much about finance but accounting concentration is a type of business major where you can work as an accountant. It’s an option and probably wouldn’t take too much more time to get considering what you’ve been doing.
