Happy Purim everyone!

Just got to work; my wife and I each brought in a container of Hamantaschen.

I had a much better day at work. I didn't realize that I wasn't trusting God enough, but each day, I grow deeper in faith, learning about the areas within me that need to change. It's not always easy to follow Jesus, for He shines the light on areas that need fixing, but it's always worth it. :)

Have reached that part of the week that a previous boss of mine used to call "ministry unto the photocopier" (that is, printing all the things for Sunday)!

Indeed. Had a brief talk last evening with my wife on my birthday coming up next week. It has always been a sore point that I would just as soon ignore. But God has been dealing with me and I want to do something for it. Part of His dealing is He wants me to re-claim myself, the parts of me that were lost due to childhood trauma and abuse. (no, I am not dissociative)

It is changing my outlook on life. :)

Dave, that is awesome. I've been reading about counting everything for joy. Not that we should always derive joy from these feelings, but count it as joy in the Lord. Even in our sufferings, for He will take those sufferings and do something to bring about a greater good in our lives. I too had a difficult childhood, my dad was very harsh, it took a long time to repair that. Faith helped me forgive and sometimes we have to make peace with our childhoods, before we can find peace now.

Amen!

haha My dad always used to joke he was off to see his mistress the photocopier on Fridays....used to make my mom snarl at him...nowadays, because the church has grown from one service to three and we now have a church plant and one on the way, he has a secretary who handles the photocopier and MOST things are digital now...even the bulletin.

Yes and indeed.

One thing that has been stuck in the back of my head for a long time now is the Jewish concept of it being a sin to deny one's self a pleasure that is not forbidden. IOW, God wants us to enjoy this life as much as we can. I have certainly NOT lived that way. But I am beginning to start. :)

Being Messianic, we pull from both Christian and Jewish understanding.

A girl can dream... sigh. I do send the pew sheet out digitally but I still have some older folks who don't use computers, so everything still has to be on paper for them.
