Here is the deposition:

Kramer%20Deposition.pdf

From the article:

Kramer’s deposition — which reads like a spy thriller and offers an extraordinary behind-the-scenes lead up to the publication of the dossier — reveals that he circulated the dossier to multiple news organizations, a revelation that until now, had not been disclosed

So right before the election, McCain circulated the dossier to multiple news organizations. That is not in service to his country, that sounds like trying to influence the election with unverified reports that were paid for by the Clinton Campaign.

As you said views differ. Every single thing you've posted has further validated my POV that Senator McCain acted in service to his country that he'd devoted his life to & only makes me prouder of him. Someone who genuinely loves his country ought to do absolutely everything in his power to try to protect it. That's what Senator McCain was doing.

Conservatives were the ones who first contracted Fusion GPS. More than a year later is when an attorney hired them to do research for the Clinton campaign.

In the time since then more & more of the dossier has been substantiated. Look at how many of Donald's campaign members are corrupt, have pleaded guilty.

God bless John McCain for doing his best to protect us.

In Senator McCain's memoir he addressed his role in regards to the dossier:

"I had an obligation to bring to the attention of appropriate officials unproven accusations I could not assess myself, and which, were any of them true, would create a vulnerability to the designs of a hostile foreign power," McCain and co-author Mark Salter wrote in the book. "I discharged that obligation, and I would do it again. Anyone who doesn't like it can go to (not including the word to be respectful of rules around here but y'all can figure it out)"

The issue for me is not that Trump insulted a dead war veteran. When he began his attacks on this guy LONG ago, he insulted him as a POW. THAT is catagorically unrelated to anything about the steele dossier. It wreaks of a lack of class and frankly, should be an irredeemable action.

If Trump were to attack him about just that dossier I would understand it. But sadly, Trump's a bully and a jerk and not good at compartmentalizing ideas.

As I understand it, very little (but not none) has been proven, much has yet to be proven, and none of it has been disproven. So I can understand why he would be particularly vexed by it.

Read the transcript.

Steele directed what news companies got copies of the dossier.

How much did the Republicans pay for their initial start? Zero?

How much did Hillary and the DNC pay, $12,000,000

Has the Clinton connection been verified?

Ex-British spy paid $168,000 for Trump dossier, U.S. firm discloses

In an Oct. 29 message posted on Twitter, President Trump said the dossier had cost as much as $12 million, without providing evidence.

“Never seen such Republican ANGER & UNITY as I have concerning the lack of investigation on Clinton made Fake Dossier (now $12,000,000?),....” Trump tweeted.

Sources familiar with Steele’s work said he began working for Fusion GPS in May 2016 and stopped with the election. Earlier, a Washington-based conservative website backed by a wealthy Republican donor, the Washington Free Beacon, hired Fusion to conduct research on Trump and other Republican candidates.

President Trump's comments on the late Senator John McCain's experiences as a POW continue to be among the worst, most offensive and un-American statements I've ever heard in my life.

We can't honestly expect better behavior or even moral behavior from Donald Trump though. This is the man who represents the United States presidency now and that's a real shame in itself. We should remember that he also represents the Republican Party and the Religious Right now too.

Republican conservatives, particularly Evangelical Christians, can never again honestly claim to be the political party of moral values and traditional family values because of Trump. The Religious Right and the Republican Party has lost all of its credibility to ever legitimately make that kind of claim again.

The unfounded and false attacks on a very successful Billionaire Businessman, Best Selling Author, Reality TV Star, and sitting President of the United States with the largest crowds since William Henry Harrison continue to be among the worst, most offensive and un-American statements I've ever heard in my life.

CNN just aired a report about this. The Senator used some especially strong language, even more so considering that he is a Republican. However, he is the head of the Veteran's Committee, so he probably takes it personally when McCain, a deceased prisoner of war hero, is attacked.

El Presidente bone spurs taking the time out of his weekend to air grievances against a dead veteran senator does seem like something that should irritate actual veterans, republicans, senators and Americans in general.

McCain didn't have the dossier before the election according to Kramer's testimony. See pg. 23-24. McCain's top aid, Christopher Brose was at the first meeting when McCain was told about the dossier, on November 19, 2016. see pg. 25. Mr. Kramer met with Steele for the first time November 28. see pg 29. Steele wanted the FBI to look into the dossier and thought the Sen. McCain could help with that. see pg 35. Glenn Simpson, Fusion GPS, gave Kramer the two versions of the dossier on November 29, 2016. At that meeting Simpson said that GPS had contacted the NY Times but nothing had come of it. Kramer met with Sen. McCain and aid Chris Brose on Nov. 30 and gave him the dossier. see pg 43. Brose told Kramer that Sen. McCain gave the dossier to Dir. Comey at the FBI. before or on December 9, 2016.

And in a world that cared more about people having character than being one, it would.

Donald's ascension has confirmed that this is not the case.

In case there was ever any doubt, the President’s recent behavior appears to confirm to many, even many Republicans that he is a lowlife piece of raw sewage bubbling up from an overflowing manhole in the lowest parts of New York City or wherever his type of person dwells.

My apologies to the good people of New York City.

My prayers for John McCain’s loved ones having to hear about these insults from the so-called Commander-in-Chief.

Fully agree with you. All that Donald has done is prove Senator John McCain to be 100% right about him. I hope that gives his loved ones a lot of comfort. His daughter is fully correct about how pathetic Donald's conduct is. It's shameful & indefensible. It's deplorable to try to defend it.

I would just like to know from some of our friends here who continue to support our president, what did he have to gain from making these remarks? Does it make you at all feel good when you hear the Commander in Chief publicly disparage a dead war veteran? Does that make you proud to call him your president? I really don't get what you all see in him still.

How does the "America First!" crowd continue to support this national disgrace? He is simply, disgusting.

Trump Carries On Criticism Of McCain, As A Republican Calls His Words 'Deplorable'

"I gave him the kind of funeral that he wanted, which as president I had to approve," Trump told a crowd at an Army tank manufacturing plant in Lima. "I don't care about this. I didn't get [a] thank you. That's okay. We sent him on the way, but I wasn't a fan of John McCain."

And of course, lest they appear disloyal, his followers must not only follow suit, but pile on themselves.
