That is great! Ongoing faith is the way ahead!I invite him along on a daily basis. "Father, would you walk with me today? That would be great!"
How appropriate, the request for testimonial! Thanks Anthony!! So many wonderful points of inspiration! Here's another new thread inviting people to share their testimonies on how they came to faith in Christ.
Thankyou for sharing your testimony!I had heard Billy Graham on tv as a kid and would feel convicted but never followed through. When I was in the USMC in the chow hall a guy sat down and gave me a tract. I told him Id read it after he was gone cause I thought it was cult stuff. When I read the gospel tract it was as if I had just gained my sight or drank water for the first time. That night I was the Duty Sgt for our barracks and the guy came by and I accepted Jesus as my Savior. Through the years I had a long period of walking away but Ive found it's much better to live in a way seeking Gods plan for my life than living any other way. I still remember that Marine's name, Ed Stephens.
I have noticed that oftentimes those who are running away from God are actually circling back toward him. At the point when they look as far away from God as we can imagine, they come around the last bend and run right into him. The very God they were running away from. Like Saul on the road to Damascus. When I was a young pastor,we had a Trade Union Regional Secretary come into our church. He was a Marxist, but after coming for a few weeks, responded to the gospel appeal and accepted Christ,as Saviour and Lord. He grew in grace and later in time entered into full-time ministry. Christ turned his life around!
So very true!I have noticed that oftentimes those who are running away from God are actually circling back toward him. At the point when they look as far away from God as we can imagine, they come around the last bend and run right into him. The very God they were running away from. Like Saul on the road to Damascus.
That was what surprised me...My parents were amazed at the change in me and before long they had given their lives to the Lord...exciting times...When I made my confession of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ,it was'n't long before my friends saw a difference in me. My sister started to come to church with me and many school friends trusted in Christ as Lord. My great joy many years later was to see my mother and father coming to church and also accepting Christ,as Saviour and Lord. My parents had first said 'it was a phase I was passing through',but they realised as time went on that it was the real thing. Christ really does change lives!
We want to hear your testimony.many great, positive testimonies. my spiritual journey has not been so straightforward. a lot of wreckage along my backtrail. i hope I can do better in the future than I have before.
I appreciate your humility, honesty and transparency.yes, peter and paul messed up. i'd never compare myself to them at all. they didn't do it over and over for years. the truth is that I don't have any idea if i'm even saved anymore or if I can be. I am a perpetual backslider and I cannot seem to break it.
