He failed to register as a foreign agent.

This reminds me of the movie Bridge of Spies. Tom Hanks explained to his Russian spy client facing the death penalty what he was being charged with. Along with being a spy, engaging in espionage, etc., he was also being charged with "failure to register as an agent of a foreign government".

He replied, "do very many people register"?

DOJ may charge Obama White House lawyer for failing to disclose foreign lobbying work

For some reason the W. Examiner didn't want to load for me tonight but there were several other media reports about it. Here's a pretty detailed one.

Mueller turned this case over to SDNY.

(CNN)Federal prosecutors in New York are weighing criminal charges against former Obama White House counsel Greg Craig as part of an investigation into whether he failed to register as a foreign agent in a probe that is linked to former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort, according to sources familiar with the matter.

That's pretty much what the Republicans have been saying for many months, Yarddog and Hank. And yet Hillary and the Podestas, Loretta Lynch, Comey and his lieutenants, et al continue on.
If there is something there the Republicans will find it.

Hillary and Comey were investigated and though Hillary was found to have made mistakes, b they were not deemed to have risen to the point of prosecution by the FBI and IG. Comey was found to have made mistakes but nothing illegal. We still don't know where the Mueller investigation will take us but the ones you mention just may part of that.

I also wouldn't be surprised if Devin Nunes and a few other Republican Senators get busted.

IMO, their crimes were given a pass by their allies in government.

What allies were in charge? The Republicans had both Houses of Congress and many key positions in the DOJ and FBI.

The Justice Department is considering whether to charge a prominent Democrat, who served as White House counsel during President Barack Obama’s first year in office, for failing to disclose work he did on behalf of Ukraine.

The lawyer, Gregory Craig, worked on behalf of the Russia-aligned government of Viktor Yanukovych in 2012.

Well, at least Obama might get on the board, now. He still has the most ethical administration in modern history, though.

Trump, with 19, is in second place overall for corruption, and is leading all others in indictments per month.

And I don't know that this can even be laid at Obama's feet considering it happened several years after Mr. Craig left government service.

Since Trump has been held accountable for the numerous criminals he hired, if this guy actually turns out to have violated the law, then it should reflect on Obama.

Didn't Obama say he was going to get rid of all lobbyists in Washington? Maybe that's the reason why he never registered?

Didn't Obama say he was going to get rid of all lobbyists in Washington?

Don't think so. He did say his administration would be honest and open. Let's see how he did...

Presidential administrations, number of felonies per year: as of 07/2018
Nixon 9.8
Ford 0.4
Carter 0.0
Reagan 2.0
George H.W. Bush 0.25
Bill Clinton 0.25
George W. Bush 1.1
Barack Obama 0.0
Donald Trump 4.1 /3.5 (If you count count cases of collusion with foreign nationals)
Actual convictions only

So far, Obama isn't even on the board. If the rumor is true, he could fall from a tie for most honest to third place.

(Barbarian checks further) Turns out, you're right. Obama did flatly ban lobbyists from federal jobs in his administration. But that didn't last after he left office:

January 2017:
President Donald Trump's much-hyped ban on administration officials becoming lobbyists removed some of President Barack Obama's ethics rules instead of strengthening them.

Trump's ethics pledge, issued as an executive order on Saturday, includes a five-year "lobbying ban" that falls short of its name, preventing officials from lobbying the agency they worked in for five years after they leave, but allowing them to lobby other parts of the government.

Trump lobbying ban weakens Obama rules

But that's not the worst part:

Trump has granted more lobbyist waivers in 4 months than Obama did in 8 years

Violating his own ethics rules at a staggering pace.
https://www.vox.com/2017/6/1/15723994/trump-ethics-waivers

So Trump's "Drain the Swamp" pledge, actually meant "bring in more gators and cottonmouths."
