These commands keep us in line. But even in the case of the incestuous brother in Corinth, God was taking him home under Satan's destruction rather than him being lost. You can go the easy way or the hard way, but you go regardless.

Sure, but Paul says the repentance of the brothers
in the church leads to salvation. What's that all about?
If you want, I can quote some commentaries for you.

Another compiled list of what it takes to be a Christian.
Kinda makes you wonder what Christ meant when he said "my yoke is easy and my burden is light."
You're a realist all right (der's very few of you around)
... you're actually seeing all of those warnings/threats!

Also makes you wonder what He meant when He said "unless a man be born again of water and the Holy Ghost, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God".

So there are two things one must do in order to be a Christian.

Yes, this is how to start being a Christian.
But, it's not how you end your life as one.

The quote goes "unless a man be born again of water and the Holy Ghost, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God".

So I'd say that's about entering the kingdom of God rather than how to "start being a Christian".

Yah, you're right ... I wasn't payin' attention.
The blue is the beginning of things required.
You also cannot be a habitual sinner.
And other things as well (check the OP).

Nobody has provided evidence that the epistles
were not customized for particular situations of the day.

Loss of salvation seems to be the holding of the Old Covenant.
People who believe in God, but choose legalism over Grace.
They can be gently brought back to the Grace of Jesus.

Repentance = salvation as a work in process. You are not being saved if you are not repenting and living a holy life.

All of the NT verses in the OP are warnings to BACs
that they can lose their salvation ...
IF they do NOT do their part in the salvation process,
which comes to a conclusion upon their deaths!

True saving belief = enduring faith +
enduring trust + enduring obedience +
good works + no habitual (unrepentant) sinning

So far, my many years of in-depth study
of the whole of the NT has led me to believe:

True saving belief includes

● God knowing you ... approves of you
● loving God ... resulting in obedience
● knowing God ... includes obedience
good works toward your fellow man
● no habitual sinning ... w/o repentance
● enduring faith and trust until the end

No, that is unbiblical. Salvation is an event, not a process. Sanctification is a process, and a result of salvation.
