At that time Jesus said, “I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. 26Yes, Father, for this is what you were pleased to do.
27“All things have been committed to me by my Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.
28“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

This is in chapter 11, but I think you should start in chapter 3, where He begins to speak.
Matthew 3 NIV
And listen to the One who in all of time on Earth knows God better than any other every has, more fully and perfectly and totally, and hear the words He said, and thus draw closer, much closer, and then you will be much better ready to seek as He says in chapter 7 ( as you start in chapter 3 or 4, listen and take your time, and pause and dwell with His words; it can takes hours, days, or years

This is a precious prayer request. Praying with and for you that God reveals His Father heart for you and that He ministers to you as only He can, and that He pours His grace, loving kindness, and tender mercies in your heart, mind, soul, and spirit to overflowing and seals any doubt out, as He puts in you what NONE can remove, and that is His presence, and the sureness of His presence through His precious Holy Spirit. May you catch a glimpse of Him, rejoicing over you with singing, dear heart, and may any and all agonies be ousted as His inexplicable healing and His joy commences. What a precious request for prayer! I will definitely be praying for you! Hebrews 11:1 says "Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." If you long to know him and pray fervently to him, he will reveal himself to you. Do you have a bible preaching church nearby where you can find out more about him?

I was in church for 25 years, I know the Bible like the back of my hand, I understood it logically, but not on a heart level.

God's promise in Hebrews 10:16 as well as the Book of Jeremiah: "This is the covenant I will make with them after that time, says the Lord. I will put my laws in their HEARTS, and I will write them on their minds." I you seek him, he will be there! It is not about knowledge but about whether or not we see that we are helpless without him. It is about recognizing our feebleness and weakness as human being. To have such a sweet request for prayer about your faith tells me that you are really sensing the need for him which is so great. I am praying for you!

Yes for sure will be praying! I am new to Christian forum so I cannot quite direct message you yet. But once I do I would love to connect directly with you and we can chat more. In the meantime, I will pray for you! James 5:16 says "Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective." God know our hearts deepest desires, if we desire him, he promised to he will draw near.

Some people are just created by God to have stronger intellectual capabilities in exchange for not as strong connection to their emotions. Theres nothing wrong with not being able to feel as much as other people any more than its wrong for some people to not be able to think as much as other people. We are all different.
Nevertheless you still need the peace of God to guard your heart and mind.
Philippians 4:
do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
8Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. 9What you have learnede and received and heard and seen in me—practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.
It is only by doing this that I am able to maintain peace and rest in my own heart and mind. I will pray for you now. But ask the Lord every day, all through the day to help you to do what these verses say to do. He will help you. There are no circumstances in the Christian life in which we cannot have this peace. Because this peace is from God it is supernatural. It is not from us. It may take a while and a lot of prayer before you can enter into this but it will happen if you persistently seek it.
Dont give up.
