There are a few things I find beyond annoying about this subject and issue.

#1) The Hillary Email Scandal should be 100% separate from the Trump investigation. Yet, the GOP and Fox News is trying to link them together in a tit for tat fashion and that is just wrong to the point of being offensive. There are plenty of LEGITIMATE reasons why Trump should be investigated for collusion and it is treasonous for the GOP to drop the ball on this issue. To think, the party of Reagan actually believes Russia are our allies and feels we don't need to make sure that the top echelons of our government haven't been influenced by foreign powers despite having irrefutable proof that that is exactly what happened?

#2) There are certain things that happen at the top levels of government that need to be swept under the rug for the sake of the Government's future. When Bush/Cheney left office the US was guilty of committing war crimes. Did Obama lead a witch hunt against Bush/Cheney? No. Why? Because doing so would have undermined the legitimacy of our entire government. In regards to either party having a candidate run for office... Assuming that Hillary was guilty of inappropriate email usage, that is something that needed to be given a pass for the sake of the Republic. At the time, she was the front runner for President. You don't jeopardize that because of inappropriate email usage. You just don't. Yes, she gets special treatment because she is special, just as Bush/Cheney were special. Or put another way, political parties can NOT use the weight of the government to go after powerful political rivals without just cause. Every single time that happens, it puts our entire Republic at risk.

In the case of Trump, the "potential" of our government being corrupted or influenced by a foreign power is too great to ignore. So it is warranted.

#3) It is years later and the GOP is still blaming Hillary and using her for a distraction. Are you kidding me? Seriously? If Hillary died tomorrow because of a heart attack I bet you the GOP would still be going on about her emails... For those of us who haven't drunk the GOP kool aid, this is just beyond petty.

DOJ reached agreement with Clinton lawyers to block FBI access to Clinton Foundation emails, Strzok says

The Justice Department "negotiated" an agreement with Hillary Clinton's legal team that ensured the FBI did not have access to emails on her private servers relating to the Clinton Foundation, former FBI special agent Peter Strzok testified during a closed-door appearance before the House Judiciary Committee last summer, according to a newly released transcript.
They were investigating use of the server for State Department emails - of course the Clinton Foundation emails were blocked. Your article even points out that they lacked probable cause to go after the foundation emails. This is a nothingburger.

I believe that the Right's narrative is that the e-mails contain the evidence of the Deep State plot against Trump.
