Now the news is saying anyone who supports Trump supports what happened because this guy loved Trump. Really? This guy was a far right extremist. One who also loved the Axis and Hitler. The normal right doesn't support this sort of stuff....ever.

I knew it would only be a matter of time before the U.S. was blamed for the shooting.

This is very sad. My heart goes out to them affected in their losses in prayer. May they come to know Christ in it all, and may the gospel shine in those places in the hearts of those that don't know him.

Throughout history, there was more massive deaths than there is in our world today. The bright side is that things are a whole lot of better than they use to be. Wars aren't as frequent either as they use to be. Causalities aren't as high as they use to be. Things are a lot better than most of human history, and the deep depravity men were lead under. But, since it has become so uncommon in our culture, we tend to be very sensitive to the smallest circumstances (which we should anyways). This is truly sad, but thank our God that things have been progressing toward peace before the arrival of Christ.

I grew up in New Zealand. It is a wonderful country and usually it is very peaceful. This incident will cause a terrible shock to people there.

I dont think there are any easy answers. The NZ Prime Minister got it right when she said that the country will have to improve security, but without losing democracy. That is not easy.

It is true that this incident puts relations between Islam and the West on a downwards spiral. That cannot be good. The risk of a real planned terrorist response is high. Sadly, that is what the shooter wanted to happen.

Christ calls upon us to be peace makers. Our world is very troubled. There is a spiritual battle happening ... Light versus Darkness. There are no safe spots in the world any more. The Lord is our Refuge and our Strength. Psalm 46!

Prayers for everyone affected by this tragedy.

I think the major difference is that we live in times of relative peace. Sure many more died when there was pretty much constant war- but war is something with is own moral definitions.

To walk into a place of prayer and murder 50 men, women and children in cold blood... Well I don't care what politics or beliefs you hold it's sickening.

The news media would use anything to try and discredit Mr Trump. There are lie, damnable lies, and news reports involving Mr Trump.

A lot needs to be unpacked with the "do their thing" part for me to justify leaving them alone and respecting them. Jesus tells us "If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners love those who love them." The gangs have a lot of gain from looking after their own communities because your neighbours know a lot of things about you and you want to make sure that information is kept safe. what's the expression... something about don't something where you eat, that's all the gangs are doing.

What neighbourhood did the perpetrator live in? Where did the group he represented live? Perhaps if they weren't left alone to do their thing we wouldn't be having this discussion. Why not stop leaving them alone and tell them about Christ?
Gang members are sinners like all the rest of us, and need our prayers in the same way we need the prayers of those who love us in the Lord.

That was part of the shooters plan, he wrote a manifesto about what he wants to accomplish. One journalist was able to read it and reported that the shooter wants to accelerate the culture war, especially in the U.S.

I remember in the recent past how the "normal right wing" lambasted the "normal muslims" for "not doing enough" because they were not immediately speaking out against and condemning Islamic terrorist attacks in the strongest of terms possible, claiming that by their silence they were complicit.

Now that the shoe is on the other foot it seems the normal right doth protest too much.

I was alarmed yesterday when I read the comments on Fox News under the article about this incident. About 50% of them were either making excuses/supporting the shooter or making comments about Muslim lives being worthless/deserving to die. Fox News comment section is full of Trump supporters. So who is “ the normal right” these days?

I can certainly understand why Trump and many of his supporters would be implicated in a tragedy like this. He has certainly encouraged white supremacists in this country with his nonsense rhetoric of 'some very fine people' and him retweeting some tweets of white nationalists. I provided quite a few articles about his connection with white nationalists in one of my previous posts here. He also has a long history of racist behavior toward minorities himself, such as he and his father being sued by the federal government for housing discrimination against black people. FYI, @Go Braves shared the below article about Trump with me earlier. I thought I would share it with you here.

Donald Trump downplays threat of white nationalism after New Zealand shootings

I'm curios as to how they figured this out so fast? Or was it the usual wishful thinking?
You’re kidding right?
He live streamed the attack from a body cam… You can see the white supremacist inscriptions in white on his assault weapon, and he did some commentary on camera in the car before beginning the attack.

You might want to educate yourself before commenting

This is such a tragedy and I pray for those departed souls, the family, and friends of those who lost their lives and those who were present that will have to live with the dreadful experience they had to endure. My prayers also go out to the people of New Zealand who in the past had not experienced the senseless violence perpetrated by these vicious terrorists.

To think that a madman from Australia made that trip to New Zealand to commit this horrible crime is beyond belief, I feel ashamed to call myself an Australian at the moment.

Here in Australia we also have our own nutcases in positions of power that promote exclusion of people based on race and religion.

It was on the fellows facebook page, extreme right wing. That's how they figured it out; they just looked him up on the net.

There has been a report of mass shootings in two mosques in Christchurch in New Zealand.

What we know about how the Christchurch shootings unfolded

I think so far about 49 people have been died. Initial reports seem to indicate the shootings were due to an extremist right wing group -

Live: 49 killed in terror attacks at NZ mosques, man charged with murder

This won't do Australia or New Zealand any good in the eyes of Moslems. It's very unusual for New Zealand to have a massacre of any type.
Well let us pray that the shooters repent and turn to God.

Jacinda Adhern:
We are a proud nation of more than 200 ethnicities, 160 languages, and amongst that diversity we share common values. And the one that we place currency on right now is our compassion and the support for the community of those directly affected by this tragedy and secondly, the strongest possible condemnation of the ideology of the people that did this.

You may have chosen us, but we utterly reject and condemn you.

She speaks for me.
