Being rich is not a sin and does not disqualify a preacher from preaching and teaching. But if the motivation is to make money and increase wealth by his preaching, then that is quite different and such a preacher would not be working with the Holy Spirit.

Rich or poor, if a preacher is not making the death and resurrection of Christ his foundation of preaching and teaching, and "determining not to know anything except Christ and Him crucified, he is preaching another gospel and is not supported by the Holy Spirit.
I tend to think that if a preacher is not preaching about Him in Resurrection and us as seated with Him that he is preaching another gospel.

Many of them are motivated by money, otherwise they wouldnt charge so much to teach the gospel.
If they are motivated by money they are not ministering in the Holy Spirit but with a coveting spirit.

Is that supposed to make it right?
No it is not. It is using soulish methods to achieve a spiritual result. The Holy Spirit doesn't work that way. Faith comes by hearing the Word of God preached, not using a band to whip up an emotional response.

This is one of the many iconic things my Grandparets had hanging in their living room, might be irrelevant (sorry if so), but the thread title brought it to mind.
