Hello!
I'm new to this forum.
I am not exactly a new Christian, as I was baptised in a protestant church in 2004 at the age of eighteen. At first, I was a Christian, but honestly I didn't really take my faith seriously. However, I was born again two years ago and last year I decided to go to an evangelical church that was more tailored to my new beliefs. However, I feel very much alone. I have only two Christians friends who share my beliefs. I live in Europe, a continent that is becoming more and more secular. Most of the people I know and interact with are non Christians and they don't share the same worldview. I know Romans 12: 2 says "Do not conform to the pattern of this world" and I totally agree, but sometimes it is hard not to be able to share my faith with others and to be confronted to people who have totally different opinions about ethical issues, for example. I'm trying to make acquaintances in my new church, though.
Tonight, I just need a little bit of encouragement and I'd be happy to write to people on this forum.
Thanks!

And a very warm welcome from me. Nice to have you join us on the forums!

I would like to encourage you with the words ""Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you." (Hebrews 13:5). When you share on these forums, you are sharing with your brothers and sisters in Christ. We all have the same Heavenly Father, the same Christ who died for us and loves us, and the same Holy Spirit who indwells in us. You are not alone - you are a valuable child of God and part of a very large family of believers. Always know that you are very welcome!

Hey my sister Charlotte.... alone.. do you know WHY all of this was made? Even all you cant see? He made it ..for YOU! He left heaven so He would NEVER lose YOU. Your the reason He died. We know HE died for the world. We tend to think GOD is like man. Oooh He is not a man nor thinks like one. YOU were on His mind before this world was. Your the reason He came. You will be standing in heaven with millions.. yet.. He is only looking at you..He lets you know that your the most important one to Him. He does this for EVERYONE! How I don't know..

He never left you.. no matter what.. He is always with you. No matter what you think hear or see or feel. KNOW He is with you. KNOW He is for you.. KNOW He is NOT against you. He is SO IN LOVE WITH YOU!

So... just take GOD at His word. Meaning.. you want friends? Tell HIM what you want need. Then KNOW He is not man.. that HE said.. what ever you desire when you pray believe you receive it you shall have it. He said.. what ever you ask the Father in my name He will do. HE said.. if you know HE hears you you know you have the petitions/prayers you asked for..

So asking for friends.. is a good thing. It goes inline with the word. Friends that what? LOVE the lord? Ask Him.. there is no.. "what if". He WILL do it. You WILL get a peace.. and never listen to doubt. If its written in HIS word.. that is HIS WILL! There are THOUSANDS of promises in GODS word all for you. To them that love him

For you.. hard to understand but.. it was written for YOU! There is NOTHING to hard for YOUR Father.. your GOD..your savior.. your best friend.
"Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness."

Being truly born again you will find old friends to fall away and new ones gained. You are correct that you now have a different world view from old secular views. Your old friends simply are not going to get it and you will come to not tolerate how they live, what they talk about, how they conduct their matters . Everything is new now, you are a new creation/creature in Christ. This is a whole different thing than just going to church was.

You're on a new mission in life, the gospel is your new message to spread with people. It doesn't mean we are not here with secular people but we are no longer of them. But we do have a message for them. That's the difference you are feeling inside, your old friends are still living in foolishness and those things aren't so interesting to you now I bet. You are changing, it's part of being sanctified. Jesus and His Holy Spirit will form you and direct your ways, don't look back, live each day as it comes, your reward is in heaven not here on earth.

My entire family is non-religious/atheist as are most of my friends. I know how you feel. My family even thought I was brainwashed and joined a cult.
That's exactly what my family says too. My family is Christian, but their faith is not an important part of their everyday life and they are very liberal, like some churches in Europe, whereas I'm more conservative in my beliefs.

Yes, it is important to have friends who are "of one mind and faith" with us. When we receive the Lord Jesus in our heart and pathway, and talk with Him and study His Word, He will become our best Friend ---and for eternity; and that regardless of whether other religious people appreciate our intimacy with God. Feel free to write me privately if you wish to chat about God's Word and our life here with Him. I have been walking with Him for over 60 years, and very happy to have such a Savior.

When I use to go to Christian born again church my family said the same. Now that they don't they don't say wait they said "I am glad you left" really no joking that's how bitter and judgemental they are.

Welcome to the forum Charlotte.

I pray that God will give you boldness and wisdom to live as a light to your friends and those around you. Don't be discouraged...God has put you where you are for a reason. Your experiences, feelings, knowledge - you're unique in every way. Others may not share the same worldview, but do your best to live a life that worthy of God's calling. As a veteran writer would say - show, don't tell. God bless you.

Okay my mother now says glad you are going again just recent she don't know I am attending another non Catholic church.

My unsaved family likes that I am going out but I know from my Grandmother attitude that she is glad I am going out but ignores any questions about the church that she don't like born again Christian "who are the most friendly people I meet" which I am.
