There are 33 members of Congress up for re election in 2020

What does the Political Atmosphere look like if the House flips?

House or Senate? Because all members of the House are up for reelection every even year.

Depends on whether Trump has been able to replace Ginsburg.

Yeah, I'm going to assume that @hislegacy meant "Senate," and say that if it flips in 2020, and Donald is re-elected as well, he's going to be on a four-year Twitter rant about how terribly, terribly unfair Congress is to him...

Also *no* court picks will be confirmed those entire four years.

It means there will be as many investigations as there are Republicans who win.

The dead will roam the earth, salt will lose its savor, cats and dogs will be living together, and things too horrible to imagine.

I believe that the Democratic House majority is in jeopardy. The new vocal youngsters came, for the most part, from very Democratic districts.

The swing districts were very Republican districts that rejected Trump. Some of those districts will move back in a general election (as is almost always the case).

Most likely

Is it not 30% each two years?

That would be 33 in the Senate and 145 in the House. Right?
The whole house runs every two years.

The whole house runs every two years.

Really? I was under the impression that it was a third of the House every two years.

Edit:

Members of the House of Representatives serve two-year terms and are considered for reelection every even year. Senators however, serve six-year terms and elections to the Senate are staggered over even years so that only about 1/3 of the Senate is up for reelection during any election.

Makes the question even more valid

House members only serve for two years. Senators serve for six, which is why the elections can be staggered at two-year intervals.

You're asking what if the House flips twice in consecutive elections?

I'd say the boys in Vegas would go bonkers...

Oh don't worry about that Trump will have LONG since de-legitimized the election and right wingers will fall for all his empty words and dog whistle language.

What follows is not based on established fact so it’s only an observation. Because of that don’t ask me for proof it’s only an observation.

From what I recall, that means I could be wrong, AOC won her spot with only 3% of the registered voters voting. Given that her greatest accomplishment so far is to cost her constituents 25,000 good paying jobs and billions of dollars a year in tax revenues; is it possible there is another Democrat who will challenge her for her seat and she would become a one hit wonder

That is not to say I think the chair will flip Republican. But it seems the Democrats might put up someone else.

Thoughts?
