Zechariah 14:1 Behold, a day of the LORD is coming when your plunder will be divided in your presence.
Zechariah 14:2 For I will gather all the nations for battle against Jerusalem, and the city will be captured, the houses looted, and the women ravished. Half of the city will go into captivity, but the rest of the people will not be removed from the city.
Zechariah 14:3 Then the LORD will go out to fight against those nations, as He fights in the day of battle.
Zechariah 14:4 On that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, east of Jerusalem, and the Mount of Olives will be split in two from east to west, forming a great valley, with half the mountain moving to the north and half to the south.
Zechariah 14:5 You will flee by My mountain valley, for it will extend to Azal. You will flee as you fled from the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah. Then the LORD my God will come, and all the holy ones with Him.

Ive noticed a false teaching on this board and thought i would point it out.The claim made by a couple of people that the Lord is preparing a way to save the people in the previous verse. That fact is if they belonged to Christ they would not need to flee. When the Lord comes as the scripture points out those who belong to the Lord would be incoruptible.Nothing can hurt them. They cant be killed.

1 Corinthians 15:54 When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come to pass: "Death has been swallowed up in victory."

Fact is those who are fleeing in Zech 14:5 are the same fleeing the abomination that causeth desolation. These people who flee are appointed to wrath. They are not saved.

Luke 21:23 How miserable those days will be for pregnant and nursing mothers. For there will be great distress upon the land and wrath against this people.

If they belonged to Christ they would be sealed and wouldnt need to run from anything.Insted of being saved ,they are going into exile as verse 2 states. They are being cast out of the kingdom.

Matthew 8:11 I say to you that many will come from the east and the west to share the banquet with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven.
Matthew 8:12 But the sons of the kingdom will be cast into the outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth."

I agree with your original premise. But the fleeing Jews are saved. They're fleeing to go join the rest of the 144,000.

If they were saved .they would be immortal

1 Corinthians 15:54 When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come to pass: "Death has been swallowed up in victory."

They wouldnt have any reason to flee. What do they fear?Keep in mind.Jesus is standing on the Mt of olives. The dead are raised and thosr of us who are alive have become immortal.

Matthew 24:16 then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.

After the 144,000 are sealed. Those in Judea who are not saved flee to the mountains where the caves are.

Revelation 6:15 Then the kings of the earth, the nobles, the commanders, the rich, the mighty, and every slave and free man, hid in the caves and among the rocks of the mountains.

They are terrified .

The Lamb is standing on the mt of Olives and they flee to the caves.

Revelation 6:16 And they said to the mountains and the rocks, "Fall on us and hide us from the face of the One seated on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb.

Dont sound like someone saved to me.Sounds more like someone has done something wrong.
They hide from the Lamb.

They're fleeing from Revelation 9:3.

You say they are fleeing from, locusts.Jesus Literally says they are fleeing from this.

Matthew 24:15 So when you see standing in the holy place 'the abomination of desolation,' described by the prophet Daniel (let the reader understand),
Matthew 24:16 then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.

Now if you understand what the abomination that causes desolation is you would know it causes the earth to quake. It causes the heaven to depart from the earth as scroll rolled together.

Revelation 6:12 KJV: And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;
Revelation 6:13 KJV: And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.
Revelation 6:14 KJV: And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.
Revelation 6:15 KJV: And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains;

Here, ill give you an idea what this looks like that they run and hide from.

And that blinding light you see just before the earthquake

Matthew 24:27 For just as the lightning comes from the east and flashes as far as the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.

Revelation 6:16 And they said to the mountains and the rocks, "Fall on us and hide us from the face of the One seated on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb.

Rev 6:12 And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;
Rev 6:13 And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.
Rev 6:14 And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.
Rev 6:15 And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains;

Rev 16:15 Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.
Rev 16:16 And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon.
Rev 16:17 And the seventh angel poured out his vial into the air; and there came a great voice out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, It is done.
Rev 16:18 And there were voices, and thunders, and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such as was not since men were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake, and so great.
Rev 16:19 And the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell: and great Babylon came in remembrance before God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath.
Rev 16:20 And every island fled away, and the mountains were not found.

Rev 19:18 That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great.

All of the passages above are visions of the Second Coming of Christ, proving that the Book of Revelation is not in chronological order.

That is what 70ad Jerusalem looked like it was hit with..........Notice Ezekiel 22........Revelation is the destruction of 70ad Jerusalem........
If it is still future, well, my condolences to the Jews and their City........

EZEKIEL 22 "GATHER HOUSE OF ISRAEL INTO JERUSALEM TO MELT IN FURNACE/GEHENNA"

Luke 21:23
“But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days!
For there will be Great Distress in the land and wrath upon this people.

Isa 31:9

He shall cross over to his stronghold for fear,And his princes shall be afraid of the banner,”
Says the LORD,Whose fire is in Zion And whose furnace is in Jerusalem.

Ezekiel 22:
1 And there is a word of Yahweh unto me, saying, 2 ‘And thou, son of adam! dost thou judge? dost thou judge the City of blood? then thou hast caused it to know all its abominations,
17 And there is a word of Yahweh unto me, saying, ‘Son of adam! 18 The House of Israel hath been to Me for dross, All of them [are] brass, and tin, and iron, and lead, In the midst of a furnace — dross hath silver been,
19 Therefore, thus said Adonay Yahweh: Because of your all becoming dross, Therefore, behold!
I am gathering you unto the midst of Jerusalem,
20 A gathering of silver, and brass, and iron, and lead, and tin, Unto the midst of a furnace — to blow on it fire, to melt it, So do I gather in Mine anger and in My fury, And I have let rest, and have melted you.
21 And I have heaped you up, And blown on you in the fire of My wrath<5678>, And ye have been melted<5413> in its midst.
22 As the melting of silver in the midst of a furnace, So are ye melted in its midst, And ye have known that I, Yahweh, I have poured out My fury<2534> upon you.’

"..probably the greatest single slaughter in ancient history."
ROMAN SIEGE AND SACK OF JERUSALEM

Revelation 15:1
And I another sign in the heaven, great and marvelous.
Seven Messengers having seven stripes/blows, the last, that in them is finished the fury of the GOD..............

Acccording to Josephus, it looked just like a atom bomb dropped on it....

The Destruction of Jerusalem - George Peter Holford, 1805AD

In executing the command of Titus, relative to the demolition of Jerusalem, the Roman soldiers not only threw down the buildings, but even dug up their foundations, and so completely levelled the whole circuit of the city, that a stranger would scarcely have known that it had ever been inhabited by human beings.

Thus was this great City, which only five months before, had been crowded with nearly two millions of people, who gloried in its impregnable strength, entirely depopulated, and levelled with the ground. And thus, also was our LORD'S prediction, that her enemies should "lay her even with the ground," and "should not leave in her one stone upon another, " (Luke xix. 44.) most strikingly and fully accomplished ! -- This fact is confirmed by Eusebius, who asserts that he himself saw the city lying in ruins ; and Josephus introduces Eleazer as exclaiming "Where is our great city, which, it was believed, GOD inhabited ? It is altogether rooted and torn up from its foundations ; and the only monument of it that remains, is the camp of its destroyers pitched amidst its reliques !"

You'll need some discernment here. I can't explain everything.

Your interpretation of the AoD is wrong. You're backing it up with the wrong scriptures.

The locusts aren't actual locusts.

You pointed out the right scripture to what they were fleeing from in Matthew 24:15-16. But you missed the point of what they were actually fleeing from.

Here's a parallel to that same scripture:

Luke 21:20-21,
“When you see Jerusalem being surrounded by armies, you will know that its desolation is near. Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains, let those in the city get out, and let those in the country not enter the city. (NIV)

Too much to explain but I hope you get it.

Josephus said about 1 million jews died in 70 ad.Scholars say thats impossible because only about 1 million people lived iin Palestine during that time and half of them, were jewish many jews remained in the area even after the dispora.

80 million people died in WW2.
Which sounds worse to you?

This is what will happen.

Matthew 24:21 NIV: For then there will be great distress, unequaled from the beginning of the world until now--and never to be equaled again.

This will be far worse than WW2.

I always thought about that verse concerning those who fought against Jerusalem.

Then after reading the history of the 10 yrs Jewish wars, I found out it wasn't only the Romans, but rebel Jewish Zealots fighting against it.

The Destruction of Jerusalem - George Peter Holford, 1805AD

Vespasian, after proceeding as far as Jericho, returned to Caesarea, in order to make preparation for his grand attempt against Jerusalem. While he was thus employed, he received intelligence of the death of Nero ; whereupon, not knowing what the will of the future emperor might be, he prudently resolved to suspend, for the present, the execution of his design.

Thus the Almighty gave the Jews a second respite, which continued nearly two years ; but they repented not of their crimes, neither were they in the least degree reclaimed, but rather proceeded to acts of still greater enormity. The flame of civil dissension again burst out and, With more dreadful fury.
In the heart of Jerusalem two factions, contended for the sovereignty, raged a against each other with rancorous and destructive animosity. A division of one of these factions having been excluded from the city (vide page 26,) forcibly entered it during the night.
Athirst for blood, and inflamed by revenge, they spared neither age, sex, nor infancy ; and the morning beheld eight thousand five hundred dead bodies lying in the streets of the holy city. They plundered every house , and having found the chief priests Anaius and Jesus, not only slew them, but, insulting their bodies, cast them forth unburied. They slaughtered the common people as unfeelingly as if they had been a herd of the vilest beasts. The nobles they first imprisoned, then scourged, and when they could not by these means attach them to their party, they bestowed death upon them as a favour..................

While Jerusalem was a prey to these ferocious and devouring factions, every part of Judea was scourged and laid waste by bands of robbers and murderers, who plundered the towns; and, in case of resistance, slew the inhabitants, not sparing either women or children. Simon, son of Gioras, the commander of one of these bands, at the head of forty thousand banditti, having with some difficulty entered Jerusalem, gave birth to a third faction, and the flame of civil discord blazed out again, with still more destructive fury.
The three factions, rendered frantic by drunkenness, rage, and desperation, trampling on heaps of slain, fought against each other with brutal savageness and madness..........

Thus they cut the very sinews of their own strength.
At this critical and alarming conjuncture, intelligence arrived that the Roman army was approaching the city.
The Jews were petrified with astonishment and fear ; there was no time for counsel, no hope of pacification, no means of flight:-- all was wild disorder and perplexity :..............

This memorable siege terminated on the eighth day of the ninth month, A. D. 70 : its duration was nearly five months, the Romans having invested the city on the fourteenth day of the fourth month, preceeding.

Revelation 9:5
And was given to them that not they should be killing them, but that they should be being tormented five months
And the torment of them as torment of a scorpion, whenever it should be striking a man;

Matthew 24
19 And woe to those with child, and to those giving suck in those days;
22 And if those days were not shortened<2856> no flesh would have been saved;
but because of the chosen, shall those days be shortened<2856>

Before their final demolition, however, Titus took, a. survey of the city and its fortifications ; and, while contemplating their impregnable strength, could not help ascribing his success to the peculiar interposition of the ALMIGHTY HIMSELF. "Had not God himself (exclaimed he) aided out operations, and driven the Jews from their fortresses, it would have been absolutely impossible to have taken them ; for what could men, and the force of engines, have done against such towers as these ?" After this he commanded that the city should be commanded razed to its foundations,

The Lord never fought against Rome.He sent Paul tto preach the gospel to the Romans so they would be saved.

God ordained the Roman army to attack during the feast of the Passover. I don't know who many Jews were living in Jerusalem before then, but that contributed more Jews being slaughtered there than any other period.

Matthew 24, Mark 13 and Luke's Temple/Jerusalem Discourses harmonized
Matthew 24:19

Matthew 24:
19 But woe to those that are with child, and those that give suck in those days.
20 "Be ye praying yet that no may be becoming the flight of ye of winter neither a Sabbath.
Mark 13:17

But woe to those that are with child and to those that give suck in those days!
Luke 21:23
But woe to them that are with child and to them who give suck in those days,
for there shall be great distress upon the land and wrath upon this people.

The Destruction of Jerusalem - George Peter Holford, 1805AD

The day on which Titus encompassed Jerusalem, was the feast of the Passover ;
and it is deserving of the very particular attention of the reader, that this was the anniversary of that memorable period in which the Jews crucified their Messiah!
At this season multitudes came up from all the surrounding country, and from distant parts, to keep the festival.
How suitable and how kind, then, was the prophetic admonition of our LORD, and how clearly he into futurity when he said "Let not them that are in the countries enter into Jerusalem." Luke xxi. 21. Nevertheless, the city was at this time crowded with Jewish strangers, and foreigners from all parts, so that the whole nation may be considered as having been shut up in one prison, preparatory to the execution of the Divine vengeance...................

Meanwhile the horrors of famine grew still more melancholy and afflictive.
The Jews, for of food were at length compelled to eat their belts, their sandals, the skins of their shields, dried grass, and even the ordure of oxen.
In the depth or this horrible extremity, a Jewess of noble family urged by the intolerable cravings of hunger, slew her infant child, and prepared it for a meal ; and had actually eaten one half thereof, when the soldiers, allured by tile smell of food, threatened her with instant death if she refused to discover it. 'Intimidated by this menace, she immediately produced the remains of her son, which petrified them with horror.
At the recital of this melancholy and affecting occurrence, the whole city stood aghast, and poured forth their congratulations on those whom death had hurried away from such heartrending scenes.

Revelation 9:6
And in those days the men shall be seeking the death, and not no shall be finding it;
and shall be desiring/yearning<1937> to be dying, and the death is fleeing from them.

God ordained the Roman army to attack during the feast of the Passover. I don't know who many Jews were living in Jerusalem before then, but that contributed more Jews being slaughtered there than any other period.

The day on which Titus encompassed Jerusalem, was the feast of the Passover ;
and it is deserving of the very particular attention of the reader, that this was the anniversary of that memorable period in which the Jews crucified their Messiah!

80 million people died in WW2
You believe 1 million deaths greater tribulation than 80 million deaths?

The Lord never fought against Rome.He sent Paul tto preach the gospel to the Romans so they would be saved.
That didn't stop God from bringing those same Romans against Jerusalem in 70ad did it..........

John 11:48

"If-ever we may be be letting Him thus, all shall be believing in Him.
And shall be coming the Romans and they shall be taking away of Us and the Place and the Nation

This denotes the famine of 70ad Jerusalem. The Armies that attacked Jerusalem symbolized locusts, which devours crops and can cause famine.....[and no, they are not literal locusts like some futurists believe LOL]

Revelation 9:3
Then out of the smoke locusts came upon the earth. And to them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power.

Revelation 6:6
And I hear a voice in midst of the four living-ones saying:
"choinex of grain/wheat a denari and three choinex of barleys a denari,
and the oil and the wine no you should be injuring"."

The Great City/Harlot/Queen Revelation chapts 17-19

Revelation 17
16 And the ten Horns which thou saw and the Beast,
These shall be hating the harlot,
and They shall be making Her desolate<2049> and naked,
and the fleshes of Her they shall be eating<5315>
and shall be burning<2618> Her in fire.

Revelation 18:8

Thru in one day shall be arriving<2240> Her blows,
death and sorrow and famine.
And in fire She shall be utterly burned

that strong Lord the GOD, the One judging Her.

Most Bible scholars agree Luke 21 was fulfilled in 70ad...........

Matthew 24, Mark 13 and Luke's Temple/Jerusalem Discourses harmonized

Matthew 24
7 "For shall be being rising nation against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And shall be being famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. [Mark 13:8, Luke 21:11]
19 “But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those, the days!

Luke 21:
10 Then He said to them shall be being roused nation agains nation and kingdom against kingdom
11“And great earthquakes and various places famines and pestilences; and besides fearful sights also shall be great signs from heaven.
23 “But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days! For there will be great distress in the land and wrath upon this people.

The above melancholy fact was also literally foretold by Moses : "The tender and delicate women among you (said be, addressing Israel) who would not adventure to set the sole of her foot upon the ground for delicateness and tenderness, her eye shall be evil . . . toward her young one . . . which she shall bear," and "eat for want Of all things, secretly, in the siege and straitness wherewith, thine enemy shall distress thee in thy gates." (Deut. xxviii. 56, 57.)

The Lord destroys the ten horns in revelation and daniel.
The Lord never fought against Rome.

The Lord gave the land over to the Romans to do whaever they wanted. He never fought against them.

All i need to back up the abomination thwt causes desolation is this

Matthew 24:21 NIV: For then there will be great distress, unequaled from the beginning of the world until now--and never to be equaled again.

There has never been nor ever shall be more tribulation upon the earth .Ever

That's referring to the great tribulation. It has nothing to do with the abomination of desolation being some kind of global destruction.

Sigh. Now listen. Pin this somewhere if you will.

Few years from now, Israel will be invaded by a powerful army and Jerusalem will be captured. These armies are the locusts of Revelation 9:3. This is a parallel to earlier invasions in the book of Luke and Daniel which were foretold as allusions to coming times.

The invasion will occur towards the last half of tribulation. Few months to this, the Jewish remnants (or messianic Jews) will be sealed on their foreheads. They'll begin traveling by road from the north, east and south to the wilderness wherein they'll be kept safe.

For those coming from the north and east like Syria and parts of Asia respectively, God will split the river Euphrates into smaller streams to enable them cross.

For those coming from the south in Africa, God will dry up the red sea to enable them cross.

For the rest in Jerusalem who've been surrounded by armies at that time, God will cause a great earthquake to occur, splitting the Mount of Olives into two. Part of the mountain will move up north, the other part will move down south creating a valley that runs sideways. The Jewish remnants in Israel will escape through this valley to join the others.

If you're well grounded in scriptures, these all make sense by now and you probably have an idea of where they're all converging to.
