Shalom..
Was sharing this due to how I had been seeing many talking on how the President invited someone who was Messianic Jewish to speak at the Presidential Inaugural Prayer Breakfast for 2013. Seeing the main speaker, I was impressed with the boldness of what the man said and many points he shared I thought were noteworthy. For more:
Didn't agree with all aspects of it due to having differing views on the foundation of the U.S as not truly being a Christian nation at all (even though it may've had many references to scripture/Bible and Christ ) - but was thankful for how intense the man was in sharing before all the need for the U.S to repent - like Daniel speaking to the leaders of Babylon and pointing them to him and showing what Paul was talking on in Titus 3 with being ready for every good work/supporative in prayer and exortation and truth spoken to leaders of all kinds.
Some claimed that Rabbi Jonathan Cahn was "doing it John the Baptist style" and joked that he'd not be invited back by the president - claiming that he had paceked the place with rowdy believers...and this was said in addition to noting how it was interesting to see how he was coming from a Hebraic background where midrashic interpretation and looking to the past as a picture of the present is not as foreign as it would be in....say, reformed circles. Again, although I'm not certain on his eschatology views and how accurate they are, I did appreciate his being willing to speak counter to the ideology of "God Bless America."
Sadly, however, other things I found out later really grieved me when doing further research - and I tought it would be good to note (as other believers have noted ) that it doesn't represent well for believers in Christ when it seems false advertising occurs in order to promote something. For others claimed that persecution was coming against them for people having any disagreements with the video - in the name of "The Saints being silenced for truth" - when the main issue many are upset is that the presentation was very misleading in certain respects.
Though they use the Presidential Seal in this video it was NOT truly an official Presidential prayer breakfast ( ). It was actually more of a Christian (Religious Right)/ GOP type event. And I agree with others who note that it is sad that it had to be presented in a misleading way..especially using the Presidential seal like that.
For more info, please read this on the 61st Official Prayer breakfast.
Now for the one that Jonathon Cahn spoke at,
When looking at who all attended, it's predominately folks from TBN ( Pat Robertson included and many of whom have been involved in substantial controversies themselves and have yet to repent) and other Republican people. Additionally, most of them were all in support of the Dominionist ideology of taking over/trying to get America to become a Christian nation. And I do wish that others would see how that needs to be addressed if we're to be people of integrity. For it makes no sense speaking from a platform to others and saying others need to repent when it is the case that actions are being done which are in/of themselves corrupt.
Again, IMHO, it is sad that it had to be presented in a misleading way, especially using the Presidential seal like that. ...But he certainly made his point well. I just wish there was more honesty in addressing the history of FreeMasonry/Luciferian doctrines present in the nation since Day 1 rather than claiming - in the name of a Messianic Jewish viewpoint - that America needed to "return to its roots" instead of seeing where it had already departed from God since the Founding Fathers/previously.
Blessings.
